Sometimes are really feel a lot of VCs are NPC in tech. Sitting there just giving mouthpiece without questioning anything. Zero critical thinking by anyone.
Eugenia Kuyda, founder of @wabi, on why chatbots are the MS-DOS era of AI, and why a new interface is necessary to make AI's full potential obvious to everyone: "It always struck me as strange that people were using products like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude, but mostly for very simple use cases: for search, or to help them write something, help with homework." "No one was really mentioning any of these exciting capabilities that we just kept seeing the models get, and so we felt like there must be an interface problem." "There should be something simple for everyone, me included, to actually discover these amazing use cases that all these models already have." "We got obsessed with this metaphor that the current chatbots are really the Microsoft DOS era for AI interfaces. And that there will be some sort of a Windows/MacOS moment." "There is so much traction with chatbots... In order to unlock something else, you need a more exciting interface." @ekuyda

A total and absolute lack of shame is the defining feature of our fallen world and the sociopaths like Vivek who slouch through it like a great, rough beast.

PM Mark Carney has confirmed he’s cutting ties with Musk and Starlink and heavily backing a $2.3 billion contract with Telesat Lightspeed. Musk and his mood swings has shown us who he is and we believe him.

The director of the Musk biographical documentary is cooking. I might watch it, even though it’s 3 hours and 52 minutes long. He’s definitely fuming, especially since he threatened the director before it came out. It also features his baby, who’s already messy on TikTok.

I sense Shruti is hinting that there’s more to here than that is reported because of investors protecting the investment
Sometimes founders don't go to jail for fraud because investors don't want to loose their money from company dying from bad PR. The thing is you will never really know what happened behind closed doors and the truth around it unless a reporter really makes it their agenda like Theranos.

Correct take
Rant that no one asked for: My general take about consumer AI is that 99% of the things we've seen so far are super far-removed from reality Most people feel like they don't have money to spend right now, so the use-cases around agents booking flights or trips or booking reservations or shopping just don't appeal to the average American consumer I would argue that things that consumers purchase or "do" frequently enough (like ordering on Amazon, or calling Ubers, etc.) were obvious/annoying enough/frequent enough use-cases where we built amazing software UI/UX over the last decade that's been optimized to near ultimate efficiency that adding AI or agents on top would actually be making it *less* efficient. Like really *worth-it* use cases are generally "one-clickable" by great consumer products/platforms already There's a lot of magical moments/wow factors/sci-fi things with agents that come from super annoying workflows (like booking flights or wrangling personal errand stuff in gmail or etc.) but are just not frequent enough for the average person. They're actually the long-tail. For example, 20% of the world's population has flown on an airplane at least once in their lifetime, meaning 80% of people globally have never set foot on a plane. Only 11%-15% of the global population flies in any given year! This is not me saying that consumer AI is dumb, I'm actually extremely excited and optimistic, but it kind of goes back to things we've always known about consumer, which is: 1. Save/make consumers money 2. Make consumers entertained or famous (And, of course, vices) Even like, regardless of your views on prediction markets/sports betting, I think you have to understand that comes from a place of the average person feeling like they 1) don't have enough so 2) they want to do what they can to jump the socioeconomic rungs Anyway, there's an extremely *wide* space of opportunity and I'm very excited to see the absolutely insane new AI/innovative stuff that builders come up with, but also I really want to see things that aren't just dressed up versions of 2010s prosumer/productivity software (and the problems that came with it) P.S. The 90/10/1 rule still applies to consumer: most consumers want to *consume* (and lurk) rather than create!

I do not know who needs to hear this-- but just like I wrote last year Wabi 1.0 is DOA, Wabi 2.0 is as dead on arrival as Wabi 1.0 Multiplayer Assistants in Consumer AI is no show. It doesn't create any Network Effect. Adding NPC guy @nikunj as he loves Wabi 2.0-Future Ref

Well said. In a democracy, people don't owe allegiance to a political party. It's the party that needs to prove to ppl why they should vote for them.
It is the responsibility of a political party to earn the support of its coalition, not the responsibility of voters to endlessly court a party that increasingly treats them with contempt. That is one of the most elementary principles of representative democracy. I spent years involved in Republican politics. I stuck my neck out for this party, bent over backwards defending it, worked on campaigns, and stood by people even when doing so wasn’t particularly easy. I genuinely believed in what I was doing. I wasn’t pretending to be a conservative, and I certainly wasn’t involved in Republican politics because I had nothing better to do with my time. I gave that movement a great deal of my energy because I believed there was a place for me in it. And after all of that, I have to sit here and watch people like Bo French insinuate that I’m not an American because of where my family comes from? If voting according to my conscience makes me a “libtard,” then so be it

I am seriously amazed that how great Steve Jobs was really. Born and brought up in SF, yet had an astute understanding of Consumer. All these ppl really have zero idea of consumers. Agentic Commerce is a tiny tiny TAM. Because consumers wont use agents to shop
re: major enterprises blocking AI agents from buying stuff wrong take, they are refusing to underwrite it. once there is a standard for agent identity and liability, they'll open the doors. but rn, no one wants to be the one holding the bag.
