No words to describe the loss of @KuljeetKaila. She was so strong and optimistic. Last time I saw her she talked of renting a stretch limo to celebrate once she beat cancer. She loved her nephews/nieces, her family, living by the water, she loved NYC. To know her was a joy. 💔
In Burnaby for a town hall event on renters issues for @cbcnewsbc featuring Premier David Eby. About 100 people here, mostly renters and advocates, invited by advocacy groups and MLAs’ constituency offices
Premier’s staff collected many ?s ahead of time. MLA Chandra Herbert will put those to premier (staff claim questions won’t be censored). Other attendees asking questions live. Legal advocate with TRAC asks about bogus evictions. Eby says working on speeding up RTB process
Vancouver Council votes to shut down its renter office. ABC majority highlighted what they saw as inefficiencies, saying non-profits could do more for renters. Others on council said it would create a gap for vulnerable tenants #vanpoli

It is with deep sadness that we share the news today that our colleague Janice Johnston died Friday.
Janice joined CBC in the early 2000s and was one of the city’s top crime reporters.
Janice will be dearly missed by all of us at CBC Edmonton.
