unpinning this tweet bc it worked
my 15yo and his friends have been hanging out at the gym a lot recently lifting weights
this seems better than what same aged kids were doing in the 90s
maybe the zoomers are gonna be great
What career advice am I even supposed to give my 15yo right now? His favorite subject has been computer science, he likes speech & debate, is very social. He is skeptical that college makes sense at all, and I am entirely unsure at this point
idk it seems like the main interviewer started flipping to a new page midway through her response, or showed something to a second person (?), so she stopped the interpersonal/warm affect and changed to "I'm paying attention and will take this new matter seriously"
yesterday I had chatgpt help me plan out some gardening and it was possibly the most helpful use case I've had apart from coding
ok got it! next time 15yo starts an argument I'll go "TIME TO DANCE, BRO" and chuck a ball at him

3. Feed the dopamine drop with rhythm or movement
Music with a strong beat activates the ADHD dopamine system more reliably than almost any other input.
The second you see the boredom-poking start, turn on an upbeat playlist or toss them a ball to catch before the restlessness turns into a brawl.4/6
I'm realizing people have very different priors wrt how likely someone is to be cognitively strange, vs cognitively high-performing
like I find it much more plausible that Elizabeth Holmes has weird and non-intuitive motivations and reasoning, than that her motivations are predictable but she's just astoundingly good at lying and manipulating
it doesn't really change anything, artistic integrity-wise, if Billy didn't accept money for the documentary, given that he believed he was getting money throughout the entire filming
people with the "Anti-Elon Tesla Club" stickers on their Teslas seem kind of memecucked if you ask me
I am surprised that I haven't seen any "do Billy and Liz genuinely love each other though?" discourse
a thing I wonder about this, ignoring the childcare aspect
what would be the etiquette asking for a non-weekend trip (say Tuesday to Thursday), where your friends are expected to request 3 vacation days off work?
what's a comparable imposition that doesn't have to do with kids?
My friend wants to plan a couples, no-kids weekend getaway, splitting the cost of a large AirBNB, in January for her 30th birthday. I really do not love this idea (husband is mortified), neither to spend the money nor to get someone to take the toddler for 3 days. It would be a 2.5 hour drive away for us, too, so it’s not like we’re close if something happens. I haven’t been away from him for even 1 night yet and he still just seems so young! It would be very hard to leave him for that long.
Am I just a party pooper who needs to get over it? Genuine question. Like I actually need advice here guys
solution: write down meals you like on index cards, shuffle through them when you aren't sure what to make
ignoring whether you "should" have this problem, there are ways to solve it!
if I had to guess, men would have an easier time making meal decisions than women partly due to differences in caloric/micronutrient demands? men seem more likely to want "protein gymslop, again" and women more likely "idk I'm thinking smth with, like... walnuts? ...smth green?"
husband: "it's trash night tonight"
me, deep Holmes voice: "I, uh... I feel like I don't know anything about that..."
I've been focused on work projects the last several weeks but I think I'll pause for a little general apocalypse prepping
nice thing about my day: today I was in the kitchen and someone walked up from behind and hugged me, and for a moment it could have been any of three people
