Give a man a book, and he'll read for a week. Teach a man to write a book, and he'll never fully enjoy anything again.

Here’s one example of how gutting OpenAI’s release of hundreds of solved math problems was for mathematicians. A powerful piece from Cornell math professor @stevenstrogatz theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…

I never followed @JackPosobiec closely. I saw a post here and there and sometimes agreed. Now I’m seeing very different signals. His glee at Samuel Sey’s (@SlowToWrite ) plight is less than charitable. His photo op with Myron Gaines in the “Let ‘Em Cook” Holocaust hoodie was shameful. His rejection of the Old Testament’s Jewishness is foolish. Is this the “Catholic Integralism” movement I keep hearing about? If so, I’m not impressed.

It’s elitist to make fun of the Cheesecake Factory and cool and populist to own a club for billionaires that your fans could never imagine eating at.
Trump: You'll be my guest at Mar a Lago. The problem is that for $5,000, the most you'll be able to buy is a hamburger and maybe a small dessert. I'm not even sure you could buy that. That's not a good place if you're price conscious

I just had the horrible realization that for the next six years I’m going to be hearing a lot about either Ken Paxton or James Talarico. The election will end, but will still be stuck with one of the two of them.

This is the academic journal for men, devoted specifically to the study of masculine manhood, btw.
🚨ALERT: The editors of the journal Men and Masculinities will no longer allow authors to refer to individuals as being "male." If an author uses the term, they should "specify which dimension(s) of sex are at issue, since sex itself refers to several only loosely correlated dimensions rather than a single underlying fact." For example, trans-identifying male swimmer Lia Thomas must be referred to as a woman, and his maleness, if mentioned at all, must be attached to specific traits, like genitals, hormones, and chromosomes. You cannot call Lia Thomas a "male" in this journal, but a woman with "male genitals" and "male sex chromosomes." The first author of this editorial—the Managing Editor of Men and Masculinities, Tristen Kade—is a woman who identifies as a man. The model of biological sex this editorial is pushing is what I refer to in my scholarly article "Why There Are Exactly Two Sexes" as the "multi-level" sex model. This model is not merely wrong—it is self-refuting. From my article: "Traits are labeled 'male-typical' or 'female-typical' only because they correlate with organisms already identified as male or female—an identification that, in anisogamous species, is made ultimately by reference to gametes." Israel was the first middle eastern country to give Muslim women the right to vote. They’re exercising it today and will likely sway the election. Israel is extraordinarily bad at apartheid and genocide.

There was an event so good we restarted time
I’ve asked this before but is there any historical event that is like the Opposite of 9/11. Like something so good that happened that it changed the world forever

In my ideal America, everyone would agree that Obama and Trump both have bad taste but of very different kinds.

Give it a minute and he'll say Pete Hegseth wants him to rename it Mistersippi and the crowd will still go wild.
Trump: I promise I'm not changing the name of the Mississippi.

This report is a perfect example of Trump administration lies and incompetence. Biden let in millions of new illegal immigrants. DHS claims to have deported 1 million of them, mostly criminals, but they're actually deporting the easiest to find people here legally for decades, with citizen families.
A Texas father who had lived in the U.S. for 25 years with no criminal record was finishing his night shift as an Uber driver when immigration agents detained him. Without being able to speak to his lawyer or a judge, he was put on a plane and sent first to Ghana, a country where he had no ties. He was then sent to his home country, despite a determination by a U.S. immigration court judge that he could not be deported there due to likely persecution. cbsn.ws/3Ude66r

The amazing thing about the scores of replies is that I could count on one hand the people who replied to disagree but under their real name.

If you are not watching the Sam Sey story develop, it's worth catching up on. A conservative Christian blogger who has strongly endorsed Trump and ICE removals has been arrested and is being deported for being in the US illegally.

Good thing we aren’t sending any money to Israel, much less billions of dollars.
THIS IS BRAVE: A political ad just released in Michigan tackles the almost unmentionable (in the US) topic of the billions of taxpayer dollars being sent to Netanyahu’s Israel. It features a harried mother and father buying food for their children.

I see more Obama Derangement Syndrome on here than TDS. A fifteen year old car was built two years after “cash for clunkers.” It took .3% of cars off the market, many from the 1980s. It’s insane to think that had any effect then, much less now.

"Donald Trump and his family are executing corruption at a scale never previously contemplated in the American experiment. If we are to ever graduate from this era of brazen graft, the first step is to notice." A service, from @MattWelch. reason.com/2026/07/09/the-mo…

Since the White House is now plagiarizing Oren Cass's stupid chart, here is the corrected version.
“The [manufacturing] sector was losing 15,000 jobs per month in 2024. That rate slowed by almost half in 2025. Thus far in 2026, the sector has added more than 70,000 jobs, putting the total nearly 300,000 above the pre-Liberation Day trend.”
