I’m a physician and all I’ll say on the matter is this: no matter how much the doctor knows of a disease, the patient is the authority on their own experience. Dismissing your patient’s experience, no matter how strange they may sound to you, makes you a dangerous doctor.
It’s the exact thing a lot do in consulting rooms by being dismissive so nothing new tbh.
