This invention @localworkstudio, not only it's made from 63% recycled waste, but also the bricks are unfired which means it saved lots of energy consumption.

Incredible love of trees at #treetalks
-8.4m trees covering ⅕ of the London
-90k trees are felled per yr in UK
-40 x more likely to be injured by a wheelie bin than a tree
-Entire London stock of trees sequesters 2% of the carbon in London per annum

Rumours this evening that @DefraGovUK will renege on the manifesto commitment to pay farmers to "protect and enhance our natural environment" are deeply concerning. There is no food security without nature. 1/🧵

The UK just announced it's first ever Red Extreme Heat Warning.
@GeorgeMonbiot on how this is just the tip of the iceberg

I wish everyone on Earth knew how genuinely "off the charts" key planetary trends are right now, and how abnormal and critical it is. Things like atmospheric CO2 fraction, heat extremes on land and ocean, biodiversity loss and extinction rates. All alarms should be going off

It's not hard to see why wealthy people in the rich world want to transfer the blame for their emissions to China.

Nature-based offsetting that relies heavily on land use in the Global South and in Indigenous lands risks shifting responsibility for emissions made by Global North countries to those already struggling with the impacts of the climate crisis and are least responsible for it.

I will be at @cop26 promoting the ever-present, lowest of low carbon forms of transport available to us. As they always have been 🚴 🚶♀️ cunningly hidden in plane sight.

Electrification of the world's car fleet will not reduce our emissions fast enough. That's why we will be at #COP26. Because the world needs more cycling. Now! Below my piece in today's Financial Times. #COP26cycling.

Another clear cry from the built environment industry for more ambitious regulation and commitment from governments!
A survey by @BuiltEnvDec showed 19 out of 20 respondents want whole life carbon calculations to be a factor in determining whether projects are approved for planning. #netzero #cop26

Yes, PM, we need to *get real* on the #climateemergency
But it needs to go much further than coal, cars, cash & trees
We need a complete phase out of *all* fossil fuels from today - so show leadership, show you’re serious - and reverse plans for #Cambo oil field #COP26
