🚨 New paper out at @AJPS_Editor 🚨
Does the public holld meaningful attitudes? Using the case of abortion policy preferences, we provide strong evidence that policy prefrences can be coherent, stable over time, and causally explain vote choice.

Coffee shop was out of drip coffee so offered me an Americano (which is basically a free upgrade) and a free drink next time I go in.
Art of the deal.
Lines at Dunkin Donuts in Sommerville, MA are longer than normal, suggesting a strong showing for the Democratic Party today.
This whole letter is made even funnier because @andersoncooper spent 10 minutes trying to get her to explain the switch up to no avail, and then she went on Twitter to complain no one asked why she switched her endorsement.

Most of my usage of Meta's Muse agent right now is asking it to check in on Kalshi to look for changes in the 2026 midterms betting odds.
This is my favourite time during every American election - somehow we convince ourselves it’ll be a D+15 environment and everyone feels overwhelming hope before things crash down to earth on Tuesday.
American politicians should be banned from commenting on BC politics until they prove they can find Victoria on a map and explain who Amor De Cosmos was.
The midpoints on this chart are essentially arbitrary, so you can create any type of voter you want by simply shifting the axes. We could have lots of fiscally right and socially left voters if you just subtracted 0.7 from everyone's social liberal scores.
Non-binding politically motivated plebiscites are not “democracy”, they are a stunt.
Alberta overwhelmingly votes to remain as apart of Canada.
But also, they voted Yes to Eight of the Nine.
I hope the PM @MarkJCarney can respect democracy even when it maybe unfavorable to him.
If you think handing over money to the government individually is equivalent to raising taxes in any way, you should hand over your money to me instead because I’m confident I can use it better than you.
The media doesn't want you to know this, but if you're a guilt-ridden rich guy who thinks the rich should pay more in taxes...you can just send all your money to the government!
Yes, really.
The Bureau of Fiscal Service has a voluntary account since 1843, and you can hand over all your earthly belongings to Uncle Sam if you feel they can do more with your money than you can.
Think we should all pay more taxes? Then you get to go first.
(Scott Kirby is worth ~$100M).

Polls are not probabilities of victory and probabilities of victory are not expected margins.
If you consistently poll ahead but within the MOE, a 61% chance of victory might be entirely consistent with that!
Kalshi has Talarico's probability of victory at 61% versus Paxton at 39%. Polls have it closer, almost all of them within the margin of error. What's astounding to me, given that this is Texas, is how much Talarico would be leading if not for Musk's infusion, because of how bad a candidate Paxton is, AND -- how self-centered, thin-skinned, and stupid Trump was to endorse Paxton, which made him the nominee. And it's that last part, the fact that when Paxton loses, it is ALL ON TRUMP, that has MAGA and its grifting influencers in a panic.
Easy solution. Tear down the freeways.
