Our family’s journey needed more pages. Ten years after arriving in Canada, we joined author Jon Tattrie to launch the expanded edition of Peace by Chocolate. Jon has had to expand the first edition because apparently our family is not very good at giving him an ending.
Thank you to everyone who came out, including people who welcomed us when we first arrived. You certainly already know parts of this book.
Canada and Nova Scotia are the real heroes of this book. They welcomed us before there was a company, before there was anything to celebrate. We will never stop being grateful for that.
Thank you to Jon for continuing to tell our story with such care and grace, and to everyone who joined us at Halifax Central Library and the Antigonish Heritage Museum. Seeing you there with my family was something I wish I could put into words as well as Jon does.
Ten years later, I also still get to thank some of the people who took a chance on us in person. That was my favourite part of our book launch. Give the expanded edition a read and let me know what you think. I would recommend it, but my entire family is in it, so you probably shouldn’t trust my review.

The entire team will be on high alert to manage the risk, get the tasks done, and keep the crew safe. I’m super excited to see @Astro_Kutryk outside the @Space_Station on his first spacewalk on October 29 with @astro_anil!
On pourrait être tenté de croire que les sorties dans l’espace sont routinières, mais s’aventurer dans le vide spatial est une affaire très sérieuse. Toute l’équipe sera en état d’alerte maximale pour gérer les risques, accomplir les tâches et assurer la sécurité de l’équipage. J’ai vraiment hâte de voir Josh à l’extérieur de la Station spatiale internationale le 29 octobre pour sa première sortie dans l’espace avec Anil!

El que abraza a Lula es @AndreJanonesMG el diputado que con un canal de WhatsApp rompió el bloqueo de Meta y las otras empresas tecnológicas, y cambió la campaña después de la derrota en primera vuelta.
Hijo de una empleada domestica y un padre discapacitado, se pagó su carrera de abogado trabajando como cobrador de pasajes en los buses.
Su canal de WhatsApp (donde creó el “Ejército de Lula) pasó de 50 mil personas en primera vuelta a 10 millones para la segunda.
Sin el trabajo de Janones no hay remontada, Lula lo sabe y por eso el reconocimiento de ayer.
Como anécdota, fue quien convenció a Lula de finalmente usar teléfono celular, un iPhone.
Ahhh y reivindicó la camiseta de la selección Brasil para la campaña, de la que se había apropiado el bolsonarismo.

Bastante representativa para ilustrar a importância de @AndreJanonesMG nesta campanha! Arrisco dizer que sem Janones, Lula não teria virado. E Lula reconheceu isso. Só Alckmin e Janones receberam o microfone para discursar na Paulista.
Não há dúvidas que, descontado o próprio Lula, André Janones é o nome que sai maior desse pleito presidencial. E com altas credenciais para disputar o governo de Minas Gerais pelo PT em 2030.
Por hora, espero que seja nomeado Secretário de Comunicação Social ainda em Lula 3! Tem tudo para conseguir cumprir a promessa que acabou de fazer: garantir que Lula termine o próximo governo com uma aprovação beirando os 90%.
