Does this hat make me look gay? Thats something time travellers with wonky shaped bald heads frequently ask their mates. And, regardless of the answer, it definitely means I'm gonna wear it. Even if it's Henry VIII dirty washing. The wife murdering decadent English king Henry VIII left a fancy little zesty artefact with me in Ireland. This scrap of red velvet is actually the only real bit of his gear that survives anywhere on earth. I threw it out of the DTM over Waterford in the late 15th century and it ended up in the magnificent Waterford Medieval Museum. In 1495, a Yorkist pretender named Perkin Warbeck laid siege to that lovely ancient city, tryin to prise the crown away from the new Tudor dynasty but the city held firm. Aul Henry 7 was grateful enough that he had the son of one loyal Waterford family, young William Wyse, brought over and educated at the English royal court. There he struck up a friendship with a child roughly his own age, the future Henry (head boy) VIII. That bromance paid off decades later. In 1534, Silken Thomas Fitzgerald rose in rebellion against the crown. Waterford stayed loyal again, its mayor by then none other than the above Willy Wyse. Henry rewarded the city in 1536 with two gifts. A ceremonial bearing sword, and his own red velvet cap from Lucca, stitched with a Tudor rose. It is that hat that still sits in the museum today, the sole survivor of the infamous monarch's wardrobe. Henry, at the time, wasn't even King of Ireland. He held the older, vaguer title Lord of Ireland, a leftover from the twelfth century. It wasn't until 1541, after the break with Rome that the Irish parliament passed the Crown of Ireland Act and made him King of Ireland outright. The Wyses, despite owing their fortune to a Protestant king who dissolved the monasteries and handed them the lands to prove it, quietly kept the old faith. They became Waterford's most prominent Catholic family for generations, riding out penal laws and exclusion from civic office while never converting. Centuries later, a descendant named Thomas Wyse married into an even more famous dynasty via Letizia Bonaparte, niece of Napoleon. The result was the Bonaparte-Wyse family, an Irish merchant line permanently spliced onto French imperial royalty.

So new British Prime Minister @andyburnham thinks it's ok to carry a sign saying 'I support Genocide' but it's a criminal offence to carry a sign saying 'I support Palestine Action'. That makes Burnham a Zionist and a Racist...
The Kafkaesque UK laws adopted under the Starmer gov to appease Israel are such that you'll get arrested for terrorism if you hold a sign saying I support Palestine Action. But if you hold a sign saying "I suppport Genocide. I oppose Palestine Action," then you'll be fine...

FF TD Malcolm Byrne 2 1/2 times over the drink driving limit. What sort of an example is that to all the young people just starting out driving, This man should be forced to resign as a TD and set an example especially with the rising tide of deaths on our roads.
Fianna Fáil TD Malcolm Byrne, who is accused of drink driving over the summer, has appeared in court and has had a hearing date set. ✍️Tom Tuite He faces a single charge stating that on May 28th, at Pearse Street Garda station, within three hours of driving a 2025-registered car, the concentration of alcohol in his urine was 156mg of alcohol per 100ml, exceeding the statutory limit of 67mg. McSharry acceded to the request and ordered compliance by February 27th next, telling prosecuting Garda Anna Murphy to hand over the material to Byrne’s solicitor. The judge then scheduled the politician’s hearing for March 23rd, 2027. irishtimes.com/crime-law/cou…

So, Israel (a nuclear-armed state) is pushing the U.S. (a nuclear-armed state) to nuke Iran (not a nuclear-armed state) because Iran is a “nuclear threat.” It’s the same logic that tells you genocide is “self-defense.”
Under pressure from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Trump administration may be within days of launching a nuclear strike on Iran. The target would be Pickax Mountain in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence claims the Iranian government has restarted its nuclear enrichment program. No conventional weapon in the American arsenal can penetrate 300 feet of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where enrichment is supposedly taking place. The only military option is a nuclear strike. Netanyahu has been pushing hard for one. “Bibi calls Trump about it every day,” says an informed observer. Netanyahu is cornered and desperate. After last week’s election results, he can’t form a government unless Trump intervenes directly in Israeli politics and brokers a deal with other parties that gives Netanyahu 61 seats in the Knesset. Otherwise, he is out as prime minister and on his way to ignominy, investigations and possibly jail. Netanyahu must stay close to Trump. He needs this war. To that end, he’s applied maximum pressure to his closest allies in the administration, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper. Both oppose a negotiated settlement to the war they’ve so grievously mismanaged; both are pushing to restart major combat operations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA director John Ratcliffe are also following Netanyahu’s lead, as are leaders of the Democratic Party. In a recent meeting on the subject, former president Barack Obama said he opposes the current Iran peace deal being drafted in Doha. The rest of America’s longtime allies in the Middle East are terrified by the prospect of more war. On September 27th, Netanyahu flew secretly to Abu Dhabi to enlist the UAE in his lobbying effort for a final attack on Iran. The Emiratis refused. After eight months of conflict, Gulf economies are teetering. So are global energy and fertilizer markets. They won’t recover soon. Globally, there are a total of about 850 supertankers used to transport oil from producers to the rest of the world. In October alone, 11 of them were badly damaged in Hormuz. At this pace, a global depression is imminent. A nuclear strike would radically accelerate the destruction. Fallout from a ground explosion at Pickax Mountain would contaminate the Persian Gulf, poisoning the water supply for 100 million people. And those are just some of the immediate consequences for the region. The rest of the world is every bit as exposed. No country other than the United States has ever used a nuclear weapon in war. Some would like to. An American nuclear attack on Iran would set a new precedent. The Russians have already told at least two other governments that an American nuclear strike on Iran would free them to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Pakistan and India would be tempted to do the same against each other, as would North Korea against Seoul. After the first nuclear strike, World War Three is inevitable. That war would be short and final. We’ve been sleepwalking toward this moment for months. Since February, the administration has quietly rewritten America’s nuclear doctrine to make first use of so-called “battlefield nukes” easier and therefore more likely. No one in Washington in either party seems bothered by this. Now we’re on the brink of it. Close observers say Trump is likely to decide by next weekend whether or not to use nuclear weapons. That would be November 7, six days from now. To his credit, he’s hesitating. At the moment, Trump is listening to his vice president, JD Vance, and to his envoy and friend Steve Witkoff, both of whom argue a deal with Iran can be made. They’re right, though it won’t be simple. The Iranians are famously frustrating to negotiate with under any circumstances, and elements of that government have become more radical since Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family were killed in February. After decades of isolation, even relatively moderate Iranian leaders seem confused by how decisions are made in the West. (There is a widespread belief in Tehran, for example, that the United States government controls Israel.) But overall, people who have spoken to decision-makers in Iran say there is consensus there that more war is bad for everyone and a deal is worth making. One group that hasn’t been consulted so far is the global population — the hundreds of millions of people who will be killed along with their children if Trump is pushed by Netanyahu into launching a nuclear strike next week. Now would be the time for them to speak up.

BREAKING: E Jean Carroll publicly humiliates Donald Trump by revealing that his disgusting body odour and bizarre behaviour "mesmerised" the jury during the trial that resulted in her $83 million defamation win. These details are hilarious as they are gross... “I don’t understand how people can be afraid of a fat, elderly man who wears apricot makeup, his hair done up like Tippi Hedren in The Birds, and sits in a courtroom and moans and groans and complains and snorts,” Caroll told The Daily Beast podcast. “They were mesmerised. You have never seen anything like it,” she said of the jury. “He never sat still, and he talked the entire time within earshot of the jury. He belittled Alina Habba, his own attorney. He would spit as he was talking. He didn’t smell so good.” She recounted how her attorney Roberta "Robbie" Kaplan really got under Trump's skin... "He stood up with steam coming off his back and hot air blowing out his ears because Robbie Kaplan was giving the final argument, and she was asking the jury how much it would take to make him stop," said Carroll. “She drove him so crazy, he stood up in the courtroom and left,” she explained. "When a man is innocent, he doesn’t storm out of a courtroom; he stays and fights. He turned tail and stormed out of the courtroom. He lost right at that second. He couldn’t have looked more guilty." Caroll credibly accused Trump of raping her and he was ultimately found civilly liable for sexually assaulting her. She was awarded $5 million but then Trump continued defaming her in public and denying her story, eventually resulting in her massive $83.3 million victory. “When the jury heard the evidence, it wasn’t very hard,” Kaplan told the Daily Beast. “The clerk opens it up, reads it, frowns, shakes his head, folds it back up, and then hands it to Judge Kaplan,” said Caroll. “And Judge Kaplan opens it up, and his eyebrows rise up towards his hairline, and he frowns, and he says, ‘Madame forewoman, what does the M stand for?’” The forewoman explained that "m" stood for "million. “That was a moment,” said Carroll. “I left my body. As I say, I felt like Peter Pan who flies around the ceilings. And quite frankly, I’ve never come down from that. That win was so enormous and so powerful, not for me, not for Robbie, but for everybody in the country who had sort of lost hope that he could ever be beaten.” “We’re still feeling the good victory of that. It’s happened. And we’ve proved—Robbie proved, and I proved—that Trump can be beaten,” Carroll continued. “He can be beaten.” E. Jean Caroll is right. Trump shouldn't be feared. He can be defeated. All it takes is the courage to fight back. Please like and share!
