📌 Addressing the Advances in Treatments for Rare Diseases Conference | under #CY2026EU 👉 Rare diseases -often underdiagnosed or overlooked- may be uncommon individually, but together they shape the lives of millions. Yet while science and technology are advancing rapidly, millions of patients across Europe continue to face significant challenges. Multidisciplinary medical and technologically driven research, particularly in the context of the technological advances that Artificial Intelligence brings, can significantly help address these persistent challenges; deepening our understanding of rare diseases and accelerating the development of new diagnostics and therapies, in order to shorten diagnostic journeys and reduce the long-term burden on patients, families, and healthcare systems. 👉 Across Europe, important steps are being taken in that respect. Through Horizon Europe funding, the European Reference Networks, and the European Health Data Space, Europe is building a more integrated and data-driven ecosystem for research and care. The Cyprus Presidency @CY2026EU has sought to contribute actively to this effort: fostering forward-looking dialogue, strengthening cooperation and ensuring that health – including rare diseases– remains high on the R&I European agenda. @NeophytosGC
