I’m excited to announce that former Deputy National Security Advisor to President Trump and National Security Advisor to the Vice President Andy Baker is joining American Moment. Andy helped build the President’s America First foreign policy. After spending 13 years as a Foreign Service officer in the State Department, he joined JD Vance’s Senate team as his national security advisor. Andy is not just right on the issues; he is smart and extremely skillful. He followed JD Vance to the White House where he served Vice President Vance as his National Security Adviser and President Trump as his Deputy National Security Adviser. We founded American Moment in 2021 on the hopes that the issues upon which President Trump ran would outlast his presidency in the Republican Party. I met Andy when he joined JD’s Senate office, and have been impressed again and again that someone with his commitment to this country’s interest was in the fight with us to re-establish American interests abroad. Andy has since become a friend of American Moment. His wife and children have gotten to know our team. His children are a testament to his and his wife’s care and steadfastness. He has spent time investing into our Fellows, advising and encouraging them in their careers in government. They are doing the hard, unglamorous work to serve President Trump and have told me that they feel stronger knowing that Andy Baker is in their corner. Those of you who have worked with Andy know that he dedicates his heart, mind, and soul to anything in his way. This is the biggest hire American Moment has made so far, and we are honored Andy has chosen to dedicate his time and talent to our people. The road ahead requires planning and support both in and outside of government. We’re excited that Andy has decided to take his next step with us.
