photowordism.home.blog/2025/… -- I haven't updated this in awhile, but when I read through it again, it turned out because I'm pretty happy with it. What is it?
A D&D 5E setting book. It has adventure hooks/vignettes, legendary villains for each CR. A bunch of magic items. Setting specific-takes on different races. Archetypes for each class + Artificer. A sizable bestiary.
So, I need a new pinned tweet -- so here it is. Enjoy the Aryssa World Book.
We'll also try some hashtags: #TTRPG #DungeonsAndDragons #DnD #5E
If Piker can win this lawsuit, Romney could have successfully sued Biden for the back in chains comments.
Hasan Piker suing Scott Jennings for defamation is pure lawfare from someone who spends his days attacking America and then runs to the American legal system when he doesn’t like the criticism. Piker filed the suit Tuesday in DC. This is the same hypocrisy as preaching failed socialist ideology while getting rich off capitalism. Everything Piker says he’s against, he uses as a weapon.
Piker’s complaint alleges that Jennings used a manipulated compilation of 2024 clips and a fabricated quote to falsely claim Piker was calling for the lynching of black Americans. Piker says the original remarks were sarcastic mockery of someone else’s views, not his own advocacy, and that Jennings knew or recklessly disregarded that. He’s seeking tens of millions in damages.
Piker is a public figure. So is Jennings. That means Piker has to prove actual malice—that Jennings knew the characterization was false or acted with reckless disregard for the truth. Sharing a clip and commenting on it doesn’t automatically clear that bar. The complaint is Piker’s side. Whether the original remarks were sarcastic mockery or something else will get litigated, but the legal burden sits with Piker and it’s a high one. The case could still get narrowed or dismissed early.
The damages demand is absurd on its face. Piker’s public reputation was already shaped by his own words—comments about America deserving 9/11, repeated anti-Israel and pro-Hamas rhetoric, and a long record of inflammatory statements. None of that required anyone else to invent material. He continues to make inflammatory statements, like he did at his Monday event with Ilhan Omar.
Jennings is a commentator doing commentary. Piker is trying to turn disagreement and a disputed clip into a payday. That’s the move of someone who profits from the system he claims to oppose. The legal process will move slowly. The first real steps will be the judge assignment and whether Piker can show the actual-malice facts the law requires. None of that changes the basic point: Piker attacks America for a living and then uses America as a weapon when it suits him.
I'm pretty sure a guy pro Jewish baby murder and who can break down optimal rape targets is kinda defamation proof.
The same exact things we were told about ME2 and 3, where three ends in a color wheel, and in 2 you have no real choice but to work for the guys who may have fed your squad to a thresher maw "for science."
It Really Sounds Like The Mass Effect 5 Team Had Figured It All Out Before The BioWare Shutdown: 'I've Rarely Seen A Group So Good At Working Together' kotaku.com/mass-effect-5-bio…
Hasan said that babies are valid military targets. He's got no reputation to harm, and someone thinking he wants to genocide black people as well as Jews is hardly an unreasonable conclusion from hearing the isolated clips.
Hasan can get into the calculus of which women should be raped to minimize harm to his preferred populations.
Hasan has called for mass murder multiple times. Excuse us for not realizing this time was just jokes.
Wait, the terrorist sympathizer who thinks Jewish babies are valid military targets is suing someone because he claims to not hate with a murderous passion that specific race? It's like a member of the KKK getting upset I think he might dislike the Spanish and then the Klansman tries to explain "they're one of the good ones."
NEWS: @hasanthehun is suing @ScottJenningsKY for defamation in DC district court, over Jennings claim that Piker endorsed lynching.
Piker asking for $27.5m in compensatory damages, $45m in punitive damages.
This is not a battle pass.
It's just time-gated progression that requires an active subscription.
But it's not a battle pass.
We have rules. If you start making exceptions, people start saying things like: "Well, he's a nonviolent offender." Or: "He was here a really long time."
Hard rules lead to hard outcomes.
It's going to suck; there will be good people we wish we could make an exception for.
But once you start, that's how the left sticks a wedge in. "Wait, wait, wait. That guy gets to stay? Why not THIS immigrant? His home sucks too! He's been here awhile!"
Replying to @billybinion
There's no good reason to spend taxpayer dollars to track down people like this—who've lived here peacefully for decades, worked hard, started families—so we can send them to countries where they have no ties. It's cruelty for the sake of it, and it's not making us better off.
$5M is a ridiculously low estimate.
According to Polygon’s estimates, it would take $5 million to maintain a 50-person studio for two years leading up to the release of ME Universe.
If everyone who signed the petition so far pays $80 for the game, @EA will receive $18,680,880. Come on, @EA, this is just a 5-day petition—sales will be even higher – #SaveMassEffect
This is the ideal male body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.
Considering the shenanigans lower courts do, and how divided Congress is, I'm not sure anyone controls anything.
This and the CG Strike Wars are all downstream of the Quartering being big mad at internet lolcow documentarians.
Asmongold thinks everybody should be calling out QTCinderella mass striking channels, says she’s entering nuclear territory
"On the internet..there's one commandment..thou shall not use copyright take downs for anything other than the most blatant of offenses..taking 1 or 2 minutes of somebody's stream..that's not reasonable..what she's really trying to do is shutdown anybody criticizing her, talking about her"
"The moment you start using DMCAs to punish people..really really bad precedent..everybody should be actively calling out anybody who weaponizes DMCAs..for anything other than the most blatant of copyright offenses..but these are one minute clips..when you have people that try to weaponize the legal system to have accounts taken down, you enter into what I would consider nuclear territory..now you have an entire world where people are weaponizing..that is destructive to the entire ecosystem"
"I think she should retract these..everybody should call it out..I think ppl should repost all of the clips..if she's going to do this, she will learn that the internet is not going to be silenced into not talking about some inconvenient or embarrassing clip"
Someone should make one of these, but with invasions where people can come in and score points for messing up your organization.
"Kick over their sandcastle." You build beautiful sand castles. Other players then come and stomp on them. You make little sand soldiers and catapults to attack the Kaiju people.
I wonder how fast this will get vibe coded into existence.

I added a unit count so during enemy phase you can see the total number of units being activated... Kind of overwhelming that there are nearly 80 enemies already at the halfway point. But it must feel nice watching that number go down as you cross the map and seeing your 12 units grow to 20 by the end of the chapter. But... This does mean that if we want the maps to get bigger, I should consider even more player units.
Sure. We've been having this discussion for a decade or more as we tried to get Bioware to make great games again.
But they kept whiffing on mechanics and writing. "Secret elves did it" undermining DA lore, and Even as early as ME2 's forced alliance with Cerberus, the writing was getting shaky.
Yet they tripled down on things like not resolving our Warden story or Hawk, and the mess that was Andromeda.
The wokeness only feels clunky and egregious because everything in the games writing was worse. That decline in quality over a literal decade plus killed Bioware. Not Jared Kushner.
Are we ready to have the conversation that corporate greed, publisher interference, and studio mismanagement is what killed Bioware. Not queer people, not women, not wokeness, or DEI hires, but instead Corpo greed, and declarations that all games must have a live service, because EA wanted every game to be a virtual money printer like FIFA/Madden Ultimate Team was.
But what's the point? Either our decisions matter, or "the board is completely reset." This stinks of the same sort of reset that ruined the narrative of ME2 by kicking you over to Cerberus because they couldn't manage the different world states after ME1.
600 years ago the Americas were in the Stone Age, Istanbul was still Constantinople, Spain still had Muslim kingdoms established there, the Poles were becoming one of the major European powers, Russia was under Mongol control.
600 years is enough for the board to look completely different, and that's even without modern social and technological development accelerating civilisational leaps.
Utterly ridiculous for people to even suggest that a near apocalyptic event with the destruction of the Mass Relays wouldn't change the chessboard from what the player character knew in Mass Effect.
I mean, just to put it into context. Within the original trilogy, humans go from discovering the Mass Relays, going to war against the Turians and taking over the Council in 26 years. (I do honestly think that's a ridiculously compressed timeline, I'd make it 50 years if I were writing it).
Wow. I haven't been sold such an open, choice centered game since ME3.
Romain Toutain revealed more about Mass Effect 5/Universe (this one really stings):
✨"The Shepard" was customizable and could do same moves in real combat as trailer
✨Everything in game was "stateful"
✨All choices from 1-3 taken into account
✨Called Universe so you could plug your saves together to create parallel universes (simplified explanation) but you could almost generate timelines similar to Zero Time
✨You could make decisions that might contradict things you've already done and so it would create plot "points" in the timeline
✨Missions didn't fail because you killed someone, paths would remain open (it worked well)
✨Absolute autonomy was the cornerstone of the game
✨No two players would experience the same thing, would have "experienced the same story but differently"
✨"EA never sells anything. they just shut things down and sit on their licenses"
✨Barman was a new race
✨Lore was incredible around new mass relays
✨"Billy" the hand thing might have generated tentacles
✨Was an idea for sharing your saves
✨He says it was fucking amazing
it was an absolute banger and we would have loved it. The people at BioWare were brilliant
FUCK

Shepherd being just a gun rack is still a terrible take since that's the false framing used by people during the game to undermine all the diplomacy Shepherd does.
No one should be threatening people on the Internet , but this just sounds like people who don't understand Shepherd.
More Mass Effect Universe detail.
First, I'm fine with a flooded inbox of threats. Par for the course. Fine with being called a liar. Fine with being informed that I apparently wrote a woke Snow White novel (news to me)...
What I'm not fine with is the insinuation that, after 600+ years, Batarians and Humans couldn't possibly find themselves in some kind of tumultuous alliance of circumstance.
The Batarians were almost wiped out. Of the surviving major powers, humanity was their closest neighbour by proximity, and humanity had the Citadel parked above Earth.
America dropped atomic bombs on Japan 81 years ago. Today, they're allies..
Humans and Batarians don't have to like each other. In fact, it's far more interesting if they don't. Imagine the banter, resentment and distrust that could come from an alliance built out of necessity rather than friendship.
It's an alliance of scrappy, dirty survivors standing against the high-and-mighty Council races and the Geth.
And, well... there's something shadowy going on behind the scenes causing the cold war.
Calling Shepard a 'walking gun rack' wasn't intended as a negative. Shepard is a soldier. Built to kick down the door, take on armies, and get the job done.
This new N7 agent is different. They need to be more precise. More surgical. Less 'kick down the front door' and more 'find another way inside.'
I also want to reiterate that this was not a trailer intended for the public, it was one of many made for internal use. Meaning it was not as polished as it would have been, it would have used original music, and had some gameplay.
Mass Effect Universe was being 'built for the fans' in that they were trying very hard to not make the same mistakes and focus on what we loved from the originals. I don't know if they would have been successful, but I do know that I was hopeful.
