I respect @CaolanReports work and his advocacy for Ukraine, especially because he actually lives there and has put his life on the line multiple times. Ukraine owes him a debt of gratitude for communicating the horrors and the truths of russia's war to a wider western audience that many Ukrainian voices couldn't reach.
However, I believe he is wrong in this argument with @KyivIndependent on all levels. First because he did not exercise quality control of his video production and allowed copyrighted material to be deliberately cropped. As a video editor myself, I know very well that cropping a logo is not something that happens by accident.
Secondly for publicly attacking Ukrainian journalists who work on the front line for years, some in regions where no other journalists dare or are able to go. For many stories we know about Ukraine @KyivIndependent is sometimes the ONLY reason we know about them.
Calling "shame" on them is petty and very surprising from someone whose work I really respect.
I hope @CaolanReports and @olya_rudenko will work this out in a civilized way cause there are bigger things to worry about.
BUT FOR FUCK'S SAKE
You western "Ukraine supporters" who dare call "shame" on the Kyiv Independent when you grew your audience by using reporting from Kyiv Independent for years while sitting comfortably at home - looking at you @RealJakeBroe - is really going too far.
Sorry guys, in any argument that will ever come up. I will always stand WITH THE UKRAINIANS.

Absolutely evil strike on innocent civilians at the railway station — 4 jet-powered drones hit the platform and trains. A train with evacuees from Zaporizhzhia had just arrived, and people were running to the shelter when the drones hit. Barbaric.
A horrific Russian strike on the railway station in Dnipro. The Russians launched a drone attack on a platform where an ordinary commuter train and a scheduled passenger train were standing. Unfortunately, 13 people have been confirmed killed as of now. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Ten more people were injured. All necessary emergency services are working at the scene.
Just how many terrorist strikes has Russia carried out against our people since sanctions were lifted on certain Russian oligarchs and the Russian energy sector, rather than de-escalating? This is precisely why Ukraine has always said that just and decisive action by America and Europe is needed in response to Russian escalation – sanctions against Moscow and its war machine must not be eased for as long as this Russian war continues. It is time for new, stronger sanctions steps by the EU, the United States, and the G7. I thank everyone who is ready to help in this way.
