Strangely enough products like this are a good sign, because they're evidence that Piketty is wrong in thinking that big fortunes must inevitably persist. Whatever kind of money this car is designed for, it's not old money.

The great ones don’t do it for money or fame or power. Or to build an institution, or to help others, or to save the world. Like a child tinkering, they create it for its own sake. Free of the burden of ambition. Deaf to the demands of the world.

you are gonna die with a lot of things still on your to do list, but you will have gotten done what you actually prioritize (sadly often not what you think you prioritize)

Strongly agree! Virtually every institution in our society is biased against the young.

This is a thread of my thoughts and feelings about the actions that led to FTX’s bankruptcy, and the enormous harm that was caused as a result, involving the likely loss of many thousands of innocent people’s savings.

Agreeing with the proverb "those who most want to rule people are those least suited to do it" and supporting DAOs being run by transferable governance tokens is a contradiction. Transferable governance tokens are all about giving *more* power to "those who most want to rule".

This is a great example of why I'm so proud of @optimismPBC for adding non-token governance (the Citizen House). Optimism explicitly has goals *other* than just "make OP go up", and the only way to do that long-term is with explicit representation of non-token-holder interests.

1/ On How Short Life Is A few years ago, I was walking around in a blizzard in SoHo (New York). It was late, midnight, and it was beautiful. Some friends, about 15 blocks away, called: "come over?" It was late, it was cold, was tired, thought "maybe not worth it" but then...

honestly the biggest scam of modern life is telling everyone to grow up. it kills a sense of wonder and openness. there’s so much joy to seeing something new, meeting someone you vibe with and learning a new skill - feels lame to play it cool.
