A grand jury in Texas indicted an ICE officer Friday on a second-degree felony charge for allegedly running over a man near Houston earlier in October.
Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare said the Mexican national who was hit is "seriously injured and hospitalized to this day" and has no criminal record.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident, an ICE spokesperson had said in a statement to CBS News that the man ran in front of the ICE vehicle.
The indicted agent "was one of the surge hires in August of 2025 for ICE," Teare said, adding, "I've reviewed thousands of job applications and resumes for law enforcement officers from around this state, and I'm not familiar with a single agency that would have hired this person."

BREAKING: Abdul El-Sayed has the PERFECT clapback after Trump said he'd have to go through a "metal detector" to enter the Senate — says he'll do it if Trump takes a "lie detector" about Epstein!

"I don't know if you saw this, just recently he said, he said that I should have to go through a metal detector," El-Sayed said at a rally.
The implication of Trump's comment was that El-Sayed, a Muslim, is innately a terrorist and so cannot be trusted inside the halls of power. It was in keeping with the broader Islamophobic smear campaign that Republicans have been waging because they can't contest El-Sayed on policy.
"That's alright man, he took that Wolverine thing seriously, he knows I got claws," joked El-Sayed, referring to his recent feud with JD Vance. After the vice president called him a "little weasel," El-Sayed replied that he's a "fucking wolverine," which is the mascot of his beloved University of Michigan.
"But here's the deal Donald, listen, I'll go through a metal detector if you'll sit through a lie detector," he continued. "Simple. I got nothing to hide, you've got so much to hide. My first question: Epstein."
The crowd roared at his reference to the ongoing efforts by the federal government to cover up Trump's role in Jeffrey Epstein's sprawling, multi-decade child sex trafficking network.
"Second question, did you win the 2020 election?" joked El-Sayed. "So that's the deal, I'll go through a metal detector every day, you sit through a lie detector one time. That's the deal."
The beauty of this exchange is that El-Sayed's Islamic faith isn't going to be a deciding issue for the majority of Michiganders. Outside of the MAGA cult, most people don't care what religion a candidate follows. They care about their policies, their character, and what they plan to do. El-Sayed wants to get money out of politics, money in your pocket, and Medicare For All.
Epstein, on the other hand, is a serious electoral problem for the entire Republican Party. Protestors are regularly interrupting Vance and Trump at rallies to shout about the issue. It matters and it's going to swing votes blue.

🚨BREAKING: The Republican Women’s Caucus Fund has been unmasked as the force behind the fake Texas Transgender Student Union (TTSU). This Wyoming LLC, formed in September, flooded as many as 3 million Texas mailboxes and phones with texts and brochures just as early voting began for the midterms.
Posing as a trans advocacy outfit, the materials—addressed to the children of registered voters—coached minors on seeking gender-affirming care even against parents’ wishes, pursuing emancipation, going out-of-state for hormones or surgery, and finding a “found family.” They copied branding from the real Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT) and used a near-identical address.
Legal filings named the Republican Women’s Caucus and “John Braun”—the name of a Washington state senator whose campaign treasurer, Paul Kilgore, also handles finances for the RWC Fund and PACs supporting Ken Paxton’s Senate bid against Democrat James Talarico. TTSU’s lawyer is former Paxton assistant AG Chris Hilton.
TENT sued, claiming harassment, threats, and operational harm. Judge Jan Soifer ordered disclosure, rejecting free-speech secrecy claims.
So, a Republican-linked group, with financial ties to Paxton-supporting PACs, mass-produced and distributed materials that impersonated a transgender student resource guide. In other words, the people who routinely accuse the transgender community of “indoctrinating” or targeting children, themselves produced and mailed the very content designed to look like that targeting—so parents would see it and react.
Every Republican accusation is a confession.
