Founders try outbound but most won't do this:
1. Go to LinkedIn.
2. Find 10 companies that fit your ICP.
3. Identify your decision maker.
4. Use a tool like @ZoomInfo for contact data.
5. Send an email asking to talk.
6. If the prospect doesn't reply, call.
7. Repeat.
Instead, they find 150 companies and blast emails.
You'll learn more about messaging and how to generate sales meetings with 10 accounts than you will 100.
Start specific then scale.

A Harvard study found ONE WORD increased conversions by 33%.
The word: βBecauseβ
Why does it work?
Because (π) when people are given a reason for an βask,β theyβre more likely to comply.
The biggest lie in sales?
"Get in front of a prospect and I'll close 1 in 2"
If you can't prospect, you can't sell, PERIOD!

You'd be richer if you created less content and cold called more strangers.
If most salespeople spent the same amount of time selling as they did trying to βautomateβ their sales, they wouldnβt need to automate at all.

Thursday motivation.
Next time someone tells me outbound is hard.
I'm going to send them this.
Remember when "Social selling" started in like 2014?
π΄ββ οΈ Cold Calling is DEAD
π΄ββ οΈ Cold Email is DEAD
"Your buyer is XX% of the way through the buyer's journey..."
It's been 10 years.
The social selling companies have come and gone.
A now...
SDR's are dead, cold calls = D.E.A.D.

18 days left in the quarter.
If your sales cycle is longer than 30 days,Β you can't generate new opportunities that will influence this quarter's performance.
Better start working on your pipeline. That's where your number is going to come from.

Ever felt like life just threw you a curveball? Well, that was me last Friday.
I took on the challenge to build a startup aimed at creating a community for marketers.
We were all set, π₯ beta launched last month, and then...
Bam! I got let go.
Why? We just couldn't grow sales fast enough.
Talk about a punch to the gut, right?
But let me rewind a bit.
When I started this journey 6 months ago, I was handed a domain name and a lot of ideas. So, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.
First things first, I started with the homepage, then layered in landing pages. We used AI to supercharge our content creation, iteratively adding copy based on the keywords driving the most traffic.
Our primary focus was our audience and product. I developed a messaging framework covering:
βΆ Value props
βΆ Pains, needs, and desires
βΆ Voice and tone
βΆ Campaign framework
There's an irony in building a startup for startup marketers. Their pains, needs, and desires mirrored my own. To bridge gaps in resources, budgets, and skills, I tapped into my experience with automation. I designed systems leveraging AI that could do the work of five marketers.
From my agency days, I continued leveraging AI tools like @OpenAI , @perplexity_ai , @KapwingApp and @midjourney to create content with a consistent voice and tone:
βΆ Articles
βΆ Content repurposing
βΆ Web copy
βΆ Guides, playbooks
βΆ Podcast outlines, summaries, promotions
βΆ Emails
βΆ Social posts, carousel images
βΆ Video clips
βΆ Social updates
βΆ Transcriptions
βΆ Intake enrichment from forms
Despite the progress, the growth just wasn't fast enough. And that's when I got the news.
It's been a wild ride, filled with ups and downs, but in 6 months I was able to do so many things.
I built new systems that allowed a team of contractors to create a website, a Mighty Networks community, 20+ videos, 70+ articles, and recorded 10 podcast episodes... 6 months to do what I think would have taken me a year or more on my own typically.
What's keeping me going? The lessons learned, the connections made, and the sheer determination to turn those lemons π into the best damn lemonade stand the world has ever seen.
Cheers to resilience.
I'm on the hunt again. This time with some new experience and a few more tricks up my sleeve π€ .
π If you're hiring or know someone that is looking for a marketer with my background, leave a comment or a DM. I appreciate my network and how you've connected me with new opportunities over the years.
Has anyone else seen that paid Ad on LinkedIn that's advertising a course on how to get leads from LinkedIn without using paid ads?
Mind Blown π§ π«
Was on a call with an AE recently.
They asked β Whatβs your pain point?β
Seriously who trains these people?
So let me get this straight.
Salesforce just announced that less than 40% their own sale team are making quota.
But you should buy the most expensive CRM on the planet because, you know- sales.
Can you smell that, yet? π©

Make discomfort your friend.
It's the path to growth.
What was your most uncomfortable moment?
The paradox of sales for most sales consultants.
Most consultants...
π£ "I'll help you build a strong sales pipeline."
Also, most consultants.
βΌοΈ "I don't have a strong sales pipeline."
Ego is a killer
