My only Mamdani take is that DSA politics are popular primarily because they flatter people for understanding the world in a very simplistic way and simultaneously provide a false promise of agency. This ‘politics’ appeals then both to people who lack the character to refrain from indulging in undue self regard and who have a hard time facing up to what their real problems are and what can be done about them.

I think @DamonLinker is wildly underestimating the intensity of anger of millions of young people trapped by so much predatory college debt.
I think Dems are wildly underestimating the intensity of anger college loan cancelation is going to provoke. Those with college debt will be thrilled, of course. But lots and lots of people who didn't go to college or who worked to pay off their debts? Gonna be bad.

Said it.
.@NaomiAKlein says it was a "tremendous lost opportunity" that Elizabeth Warren didn't back Bernie Sanders, given their shared political goals. "She doesn't owe anything to Bernie Sanders. I do believe … that she owes it to those issues." bit.ly/2VZLuwZ

What’s it like to have once spoken so eloquently about the power dynamics of the Democratic party only to have become such a shill for it today? xitter.gq/ibrahimpols/status/123…
What's it like to be the most ignorant, incoherent person in the room? Every room. Every day.

Imagine knowing so little about history that you think the Democratic establishment hasn’t shifted so far to the right it would be unrecognizable to LBJ
Imagine knowing so little about history and politics that you think that Lyndon Johnson wasn't "the Democratic establishment."
Bernie Sanders: You know what Mr. Bloomberg, it wasn't you who made all that money, maybe your workers played some role in that as well. #DemDebate

.@ewarren won the debate but @BernieSanders might have won the nomination tonight. He looked like the clear front-runner & the one guy fighting for the average American. The rest were terrible tonight & @MikeBloomberg had career ending debate. #DemocraticDebate

Gonna need some stents after this news cycle passes
Let’s be a little clearer about what Bloomie is trying to do here: hostile takeover.
We’re going to organize against everyone who supports, endorsed, or sat by and let Bloomberg seize the Democratic Party.
Bernie and I both want the same thing — affordable health care for every person. My plan does just that while protecting union health plans. Bernie's refusal to tell us how he will pay for his plan adds unnecessary financial risk to achieving health care as a right for everyone.
They say there’s 2 tickets out of ayahuasca.
If you’re gonna chant “boot edge edge,” it’s gotta follow the stresses of “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice”
I’d like to solve the puzzle: Elizabeth Warren Buffet.
It sure looks like Bernie won Iowa. Excited to compete for the win in New Hampshire on Tuesday!

Bernie actually dodged the question, and I haven't felt this aroused since I found a stack of old Penthouse's in my zaide's basement.
Bernie Sanders fires back after Jake Tapper asks him about his backing of a wage cap in 1974 that CNN recently dug up. "Did you go back to my third-grade essay when I was in PS 197 about what I said?"
Whole situation is like in Catch-22 when everyone thinks Yossarian is dead. #berniewoniowa
Replying to @ZachMontellaro
Update: Troy Price's press conference just ended. I want to flag one thing, in particular, that he said. He suggested that the party is legally bound to report what is on the records submitted to them by precincts, even if the math is incorrect politico.com/news/2020/02/07…
