BREAKING: Donald Trump agrees to pay a staggering $5 million of your tax dollars to the family of Ashli Babbitt — the deranged insurrectionist who was shot and killed while invading the Capitol on January 6th. According to two sources cited in The Washington Post, the Trump administration will pay nearly $5 million to Babbitt's family to settle the lawsuit brought by her estate after she was killed while trying to violently break into the House Speaker's Lobby. Republicans have turned Babbitt into a martyr but sane Americans recognize that the shooting, while unfortunate, was fully justified. There's no telling what this crazed woman would have done had she gotten her hands on a Democratic member of Congress. Over 140 officers were assaulted during the siege. Five people died during or shortly after the attack. Furthermore, the Justice Department found insufficient evidence to support the absurd claim that Babbitt's civil rights had been violated. They also found that the officer who shot her reasonably believed that he was acting in self defense or the defense of the endangered lawmakers. On top of that, a Capitol Police investigation cleared the officer in question, stating that his actions "potentially saved members and staff from serious injury and possible death from a large crowd of rioters who forced their way into the U.S. Capitol and to the House Chamber where members and staff were steps away." The original lawsuit from Babbitt's family sought $30 million and her attorneys reached a settlement agreement with the administration earlier this month. Trump has previously stated that he is a "big fan of Ashli Babbitt" and thinks she was a "really good person who was a big MAGA fan." This settlement sends a clear message to his followers that violence is acceptable, so long as it's carried out by Republicans. This infuriating waste of taxpayer money comes as Republicans are attempting to gut Medicaid and shutter crucial government services. Apparently, there's no money for sick children and veterans, but there's plenty of cash available to whitewash the memory of a vile traitor.
