And without @ashersimons, @michaelestorch and I don’t own @swfc!! And it’s @ashersimons who introduces us to David Bruce + Simon Wilson.
God bless @ashersimons and @JamesOHaraAgain and so many more special / amazing people we’ve meet along the way to rebuilding our cherished @swfc.
I’m running out superlatives to describe our wonderful owner 👏 Right back at you David and thank you. World class. Roll on Thursday at a rocking full old girl at S6 ! 💪💙🦉🇺🇸 #WAWAW
Waking up this morn with a massive smile on my face so pleased for the @swfc lads working so hard coming away with a big road win to kick off the regular season on +3. Henrik continues to impress with his leadership and game management, boys responding beautifully… great group of kids. Simon busy at work rounding out the squad providing Henrik more depth and optionality. And the fans, what can I say… came out in full force in support giving the club a big boost carrying them on to victory.
Big week ahead as the 100 or so crews continue to put the finishing touches on Hillsborough which while still a work in progress, the many improvements we have made should show well by kick off.
Expect the atmosphere on Thursday night vs Bradford to be insane… massive crowds singing and cheering supporting the lads as they work hard to keep our undefeated record intact.
Everyone at the club is busting it to provide our supporters with a wonderful experience, a fun time and once again a club to be proud of! Nothing is more important to us. As I’ve committed in the past, we are working tirelessly to make this the best club providing each and everyone of you the experience of a lifetime!
After all…. We’re All Wednesday Aren’t We. #WAWAW
God bless our beautiful @swfc family! Enjoy your Sunday!
Best,
David and @michaelestorch
F For the sentiment as much as the design 💙🦉🇺🇸# WAWAW
The time has come… it’s over to you.
Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to submit a design. The quality of the entries was exceptional, and selecting just six finalists was no easy task.
To ensure the process was completely fair, every design was anonymised before being presented to our judging panel. The panel then independently selected the six strongest designs without knowing who had created them.
If any of the shortlisted designs haven’t yet been professionally digitised, they will be should they be chosen as the overall winner.
This project has brought together several Sheffield Wednesday supporters’ groups with one shared aim – creating something special for Hillsborough.
Now it’s your turn.
🦉 Vote for your favourite design and help decide which flag will become a centrepiece of the Kop.
Unfortunately, X polls only allow a maximum of four options, so we’ll be running two qualifying polls, with the winner of each semi-final progressing to a head-to-head final to decide the overall winning design.
Good luck to all of our finalists, and thank you once again to everyone who entered. Your creativity and passion for Wednesday have been incredible.
Please ensure to retweet each poll to gain a wider reach.

🚨🦉 Important Announcement🦉🚨
A new friend of Sheffield Wednesday and the Supporters Trust, who prefers to remain anonymous, has been incredibly impressed by the outpouring of support for the effort to raise money for this important cause and has made an incredibly generous pledge to match every gift, up to £35,000 raised by supporters towards this effort.
We’re currently on £27,910, meaning we need to raise the final £7,090 to unlock the full £35,000 contribution.
If we do, a £35,000 supporter-led campaign becomes a £70,000 investment in Sheffield Wednesday supporters and young people across our community.
That means more season tickets, more match tickets, more mascot experiences, more shirts, and the chance to reach even more children who dream of being part of Sheffield Wednesday but may never otherwise get the opportunity. It means creating memories with parents, grandparents and friends that will last a lifetime, helping young people feel connected to their club, their city and their community. The donor has recognised just how important family and community are in Sheffield, and wants to help open the door for the next generation of Wednesdayites.
The donor recognised something we’ve all seen: when Wednesdayites are given the chance to help one another, they step forward. In discussing the donation, they impressed upon us a simple message:
“We’re All Wednesday Aren’t We?”
That spirit is exactly what Sheffield Wednesday is about.
This fanbase has already achieved something remarkable.
Now we have the opportunity to turn £35,000 into £70,000.

Brilliant once more. 👏 Donation incoming. 💙🦉🇺🇸#WAWAW
Following requests from supporters wanting to contribute smaller amounts, the @SWFCTrust are proud to launch our community fundraising page in support of fellow Wednesdayites. 🦉
We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to @swfc for their support in helping make this initiative possible. The Club has been instrumental in facilitating the scheme and we are proud to be delivering it in partnership, ensuring the process is both secure and accessible for supporters who wish to contribute.
This fund will be used in three key ways:
🦉 To purchase season tickets for supporters who may otherwise be unable to afford one, with recipients identified through a nomination process.
🦉 To support match ticket initiatives throughout the season, helping first-time attendees and supporters facing difficult circumstances experience Hillsborough.
🦉 Any remaining funds will go towards mascot packages or replica shirts for children who may otherwise miss out.
The response to this initiative so far has been absolutely incredible and once again shows exactly what this fanbase is all about.
No donation is too small. Every contribution has the potential to make a genuine difference to somebody’s connection with Sheffield Wednesday.

Our Trust being our Trust 👏 As proud to be a member as I am grateful for all the great work they do and have done. 👌💙🦉🇺🇸#WAWAW
Some supporters have reached out recently asking if there was a way to donate a season ticket to somebody who may otherwise be unable to afford one.
We’ve listened.
Today, the @SWFCTrust are launching a season ticket donation scheme which will allow Wednesdayites to directly help fellow supporters within our community attend Hillsborough next season.
The idea is simple:
🦉 Supporters can donate any season ticket category
🦉 The Trust purchases and holds the ticket
🦉 The ticket is then allocated to a deserving supporter prior to the start of the season.
Football is for everybody. We know there are supporters out there currently facing difficult circumstances who may otherwise miss out on following Wednesday next season.
If you would like to donate a season ticket, please contact us directly via DM or at [email protected] and we will provide payment details and further information on the scheme.

Although still basking in the glow from our dream like Saturday, this past week was one of rolling up our sleeves and going to work in preparation for the summer and beyond. David B, @michaelestorch and I met with the leadership team advancing our plans for the training pitch, summer training schedule for the squad, spent time assessing current squad, addressed multiple work plans for Hillsborough, starting with critical safety items work beginning this Monday and more.
Our countdown till start of Cup series is 91 calendar days . Lots to do in short window but the team led by David Bruce is committed to do so.
We will keep you updated on our progress. Expect some exciting news next week .
Wishing everyone all the best,
David, Michael, Tom and David

Nailed it 👏👌💙🦉#WAWAW
The EFL has sanctioned Sheffield Wednesday consistently since 2018.
Over that period, the club has been hit with multiple transfer embargoes spanning nearly a decade. By October 2025, Wednesday were under six simultaneous embargoes — the most any club has ever faced.
On top of that, the club has suffered repeated points deductions. A -12 deduction in 2020/21 severely damaged recruitment and momentum going into that season. Although it was later reduced to -6 on appeal, the damage had already been done — those points ultimately proved the difference between survival and relegation to League One.
In 2025, the situation worsened further. The club received:
•-12 points for entering administration, after the former owner failed to meet basic financial obligations such as paying wages and bills on time
•A further -6 point deduction, again due to the owner’s failure to uphold his responsibilities
This is not a case of a club gaining an unfair advantage — quite the opposite. The club has been placed at a significant competitive disadvantage for years due to sustained mismanagement.
Sheffield Wednesday has endured one of the most damaging ownership periods a club of its size is likely to experience. The former owner’s approach has not only harmed the club financially but also created a toxic environment for staff and supporters alike.
And yet, despite this, there is now an expectation that the same owner should be repaid — while the club continues to face further punishment.
How can that be justified?
The new ownership group should not be penalised for the failures of the previous regime. They should be given the opportunity to restore stability to a club that has lacked it for nearly 26 years.
Imposing further sanctions — such as another -15 point deduction, spending caps, business plan restrictions, and transfer limitations — would only deepen the damage. It risks condemning the club to yet another relegation and prolonging the cycle of instability.
At some point, there has to be recognition that continued punishment is no longer corrective — it is excessive.
The club, its staff, and its supporters deserve the chance to move forward.

@storchyowl
Thanks again @henrywinter for highlighting are plight in such an informed and articulate manner 👏💙🦉
The man who wants to rescue Sheffield Wednesday, American businessman David Storch, says he has been “informed that a 15-point penalty is set to be imposed at the start of next season” in League One. The outgoing owner Dejphon Chansiri should hang his head in shame at the damage he has inflicted on Sheffield Wednesday. He can’t have a conscience. Otherwise he’d accept a compromise on bid price.
The EFL should have been tougher with Chansiri quicker. The FA should remember it is supposed to be custodians of the game and protect clubs. The importance of an Independent Football Regulator, much delayed by vested interests, is highlighted again by events at Wednesday.
At the moment, the people being punished at Wednesday are fans, players, staff and the man who wants to save them. Shameful situation engulfing a historic club which could have been avoided with stronger leadership by the authorities. And Chansiri locating some principles. #SWFC
Mark Bryan retweeted
Sheffield Wednesday must be given a fair hearing.
We are calling for independent scrutiny before any 15-point deduction is imposed. The current process lacks transparency and a clear route to appeal.
