For clarity: as a nurse working on a COVID-19 RSU I will have a vaccine as soon as one is declared effective, safe and available. I’m told I don’t know the long term effects of a vaccine. But I know the short term effects of Covid; my patients are sick and often they are dying.
If you are a midwife and are too stupid or selfish to get vaccinated, then you are better getting a less taxing job:

Mask face, after a couple of hours wearing a respirator amongst patients on the RSU. My face literally feel it’s twisting out of shape at this time, but kudos to the fit tester, no virus is sneaking past that!
Interested whether @UniOfHull and @FacHealthHull are aware of this, as so many of their students are working alongside us caring for Covid patients? – at Hull, England

Update: student nurse I worked with yesterday told me they’d an email from @UniOfHull saying would be offered vaccine when their frontline colleagues were. Well done to @FacHealthHull for managing this, thanks to @ColJJohnson and @barrett1972 for contact regarding this.
Good piece here on COVID, science and why we should be sceptical of scientists:

Really disappointing news. I do hope @UniOfHull are working hard to manage this and that students feel they can report problems in the hope it will be managed effectively:

Absolutely phenomenal achievement by Lewis Hamilton to equal Michael Schumacher's seven F1 world titles.
Can't help but feel he would be more celebrated if he were from almost any other country on Earth.
There is an increase in hospital admissions, as the Trust this week passed the highest peak of cases it had April-June. It seems reasonable to infer that this is from an increase in cases. The hospitals are cancelling non-urgent procedures in order to free up space and staff.

Replying to @rwatson1955
Very unhelpful tweet especially with community rates soaring in Hull and many sick people in hospital including 16 in ICU. The fantastic response by local government ,health and other public services in Hull is remarkable - you would do well to support their cause. – at Asenby, England

I have actually. Only because I was denied the vaccine. ( made damn sure I got the rest when I was old enough to make my own decisions)
Don’t be a dork. Get vaccinated.

Must be difficult doing the job with a Tory MPs head so far up his bottom too #PrayForBoris – at Hull, England
No other Prime Minister has had to deal with the unprecedented crisis this country is in - but @BorisJohnson is still standing firm and deserves our admiration and support: not the endless and easy sniping from armchair critics who will never experience such pressure.
And with one bound I was back in the middle of it. Start on the latest iteration of the Hull COVID-19 RSU next Thursday. The one aim I had in retirement was not to work and it appears that fairly low-bar goal is completely beyond me. – at Hull, England

So. Lads. I don’t want to worry you. But ... but I think Downing Street might be taking policy advice from my mum.
Fascinated to hear the response of former colleagues at @UniOfHull to this. Surely this doesn’t reflect what’s happening here?
