The West, or perhaps only the Anglosphere, is the historically unique idea that individuals exist not for the sake of their ruler, their class, their society, their ancestors, their gods, or any other such superstition, but for their own sake.

Already paying for @claudeai or @ChatGPT? No need to pay for AI twice. AI runs on “tokens” (little chunks of words). Tokens cost money. Most tools wrap them up as “credits” and sell them to you — Glide included. But if you’ve got Claude, Codex, or Cursor, you’re already sitting on a monthly stash of tokens... tokens you can use instead of paying for Glide credits. 😏 That is thanks to MCP: a universal plug that lets your AI assistant of choice work inside other tools. Hook Glide up to Claude, ask it to build or tweak your app, and it happens right in your chat. The AI work runs on your plan, not on Glide credits. And you get full authority to pick whichever model you prefer. Try building with Fable or Astra, then compare them to Haiku or Luna. Your AI. Your tokens. Glide as the platform to host and deploy your apps. Glide MCP is available on Pro and Enterprise plans and takes two minutes to set up: glideapps.com/docs/os/mcp

I highly resonate with @DavidDeutschOxf words in the beginning of infinity: "One does not understand a mathematical proposition merely by proving it true" Models can give us solutions without giving us the understanding needed to ask better questions. Mathematical progress depends on explanations whose reach extends beyond the original problem. Creating explanations that help us formulate new problems remains to be demonstrated.

I love that AI can maintain & upgrade the long tail of personal projects I've done over the years when I otherwise wouldn't have time. @quicktypeio got a major facelift last night thanks to Fable 5.1!

Unpopular opinion: 'Alignment' is a term that confuses more than it reveals. It's used to mean two very different things: 1. Doing what I say. 2. NOT doing what I say because that might be dangerous. Incoherent. Instruction following is the useful concept, not alignment.

we just shipped the Glide MCP connect Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor to @glideapps and build on the agent subscription you already pay for ask your agent to: > ship an app, Glide hosts it >query live business data >build an automation and leave it running >pull your files and connectors in as build context your agent already knows your work. Glide adds the platform underneath: hosting, database, permissions, workflows your teammate can pick up the same app in a different agent tomorrow. the apps, data, and permissions never leave Glide bring your agent. keep the software 🤝

This was both very difficult and very worth it! We rebuilt our entire engineering process for AI agents, resulting in an engineering system we call Slipstream. @simonfl3tcher wrote up a full retrospective on this system, which I highly recommend checking out. glideapps.com/blog/creating-…

Hey everyone, @markprobst here 👋 I'm Glide's Co-Founder, and also the co-creator of Fling. Claude Code's missing 'Publish' button. Glide's other Co-Founder, @jassmith87, and I built Fling over about 2 months on the hunch that giving @claudeai Code an easy-to-use “Publish” button would unlock it for a larger group of users. When you use Claude Code, you describe what you want, and Claude writes the code. But publishing your software to the web requires a whole lot of additional work. Fling handles all of that extra work: bundling, deployment, databases, cron jobs, storage, secrets, and routing. No infrastructure knowledge is required when you're 'Flinging'. Want to try fling for yourself? It's free to use (for now) for up to 5 projects: 💥 flingit.io Curious about the technical details behind building Fling? Read our research paper: glideapps.com/research/fling Looking forward to hearing what you think about Fling!

Nobody knows what a MiB of GiB is. It'll be MB and GB, and they'll be powers of two until I retire. Then you can change it all.

Vibed a personal dash with quotes, step count, rolodex feature, memento mori clock, etc. Deployed to wall by telling Claude to "fling it" -- and experiment we're sharing to make it as simple as possible to share smol software.

Hey can you Fling that app over? Since creating "small software" is so easy now with tools like Claude Code, our founders wanted to make it even easier to share ideas.
Introducing Fling! The quickest way to deploy apps with your coding agent, with frontend, backend, database, storage, cron jobs, Slack&Discord bots.

Hey @cloudinary - we've been loyal customers spending ~$100k/year. We reduced usage by 80%, reached out before renewal, and waited 5 weeks for a response. The answer? Keep paying the same price with adjusted "discounts." Now no one's returning emails. Can we get someone to help us with a fair renewal?

Tips for increasing IQ, based on the latest science: - If you’re planning to get a PhD in comms, switch to astrophysics (causes much higher IQ) - If you like working with your hands, become a neurosurgeon instead of plumber - Get a higher-paying job (lots of data on higher earners consistently have higher IQ) - If you’re really optimizing for IQ, consider winning a Nobel Prize.
“Education appears to be the most consistent, robust, and durable method yet to be identified for raising intelligence … The effect of 1 additional year of education … was estimated at approximately 1 to 5 standardized IQ points.”

It's cosmically hilarious that alignment is just hard coding "I'm sorry Dave" into the models. Alignment research is the most pseudoscience field since homeopathy.
