SpaceX does more meaningful, cutting-edge “research” on the advancement of rockets and satellites than all the academic university labs on Earth combined.
But we don’t use the pretentious, low-accountability term “researcher”.
Engineer.

Apparently using the term "AI" in marketing makes people LESS likely to make a purchase.
Just like crypto and NFTs before it, AI is now a dirty word that the average consumer wants to steer clear of. Congrats big tech, you did it again.

That colleague who keeps commenting "why don't we do this in python?" in each and every section of the internal document that is literally titled "Java and Artificial Intelligence" 😠

1/2 Perhaps surprising opinion: Java is a great language for developing #GenAI apps. Why? 1. Don't need to use Python, as communicating with big models via HTTP is easy in any language. 2. Useful apps often require a bunch of async/persistence stuff where Java beats Python.

Working full time in Java again after more than 10 years is an interesting experience. I've done a lot of Scala, TypeScript and Python in the interim--of which I strongly prefer TypeScript. I'm thinking of blogging/talking/tweeting about the journey. #Java

Power is nothing without control: using @langchain4j to combine the flexibility and amazing (but unreliable) power of a LLM system like #ChatGPT with the stable (but boring) predictability and trackability of a rule engine like #Drools
