I was wondering about all of this.
🧵What do newly-elected MPs do to get set up in this first week in Parliament? The eagle-eyed among you may have seen new MPs receiving a white envelope from the Returning Officer after their victory was announced. Pictured is @YuanfenYang with hers. It contains a letter....1/

Can't move for discussions about the disproportionately of the result or the fragility of Labour's majority. All true and important - but in terms of the next four years fairly trivial. The brutal reality of a large majority in the Commons is something to behold.

An important moment in our democracy with our next Prime Minister shaking hands with his arch political opponent, Elmo.

Thanks to our fantastic clinical fellows for running a learning event for all Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management - @FMLM_UK clinical fellows this week! It was designed to explain more about our role and remit as a regulator, with a range of leaders from the GMC coming along to talk about the work of their teams. We had lots of helpful feedback – one of our attendees said ‘I understand the processes and statutory role a lot better, which helps me with appreciating the GMC's role and work’. Great to meet you all!😊

I've been my Church's organist for about 15 years. I came back after a long illness and to my dismay an insufferable "child prodigy" had replaced me. She couldn't even reach the pedals. I changed the transpose settings to a random key and she got the offertory notes wrong.

Clinicians who engage with finance are my favourite kind.
In The Drum, you will also find Steph and Emily from @HFMA_UK, the professional body for finance staff working in healthcare. Come and pay them a visit!

The NHS isn’t short of productivity reviews, but are these reviews asking the right question? Siva Anandaciva asks whether switching the focus to waste would be more useful: kingsfund.org.uk/insight-and…

Really good service today @uclh rheumatology @probert_david , a national specialist service for ehlers danlos syndrome that is a true exemplar of what thousands of people should be able to access across UK. I'm pleased to be in care of UCLH and hope service can be expanded.

When @edfenergy replace a meter in my flat, my billing is out by several £1000s and not in my favour. The advisor I spoke to was very helpful, so hoping it can be sorted. Last time it was because the installer recorded the initial reading incorrectly and I suspect the same now.
