I think the only Blue Dog loss yesterday was Leela Gray who came within 0.8 points of defeating Anna Luna, and that race is not final yet.
🚨 it's official: the House Blue Dog Coalition will double in size to at least 20 members (and counting) BARK BARK BARK 🐶

On this "No Kings Day" that matters, remember that King Charles III is a better small "r" republican than Trump, Vance, or the entire MAGA movement. VOTE!!!

With few exceptions, anyone not doing exactly your job is making your job more valuable. They are creating things used in what you do; working along side you making you more productive; buying your product, or increasing your real wage by producing what you buy with your wage.
By filling seasonal H-2B jobs, H-2B workers increase demand for jobs in downstream industries, which improves wages for Americans. The nativists want to force Americans into worse, non-permanent jobs, all for the pointless goal of ethnic nationalism.

.@RepSchneider reminds @playbookdc that the DSA has yet to flip a single House seat from red to blue. He said moderates will deliver the Democratic majority, and they don’t intend to let the far left dictate their agenda.

Last week, @NFAPResearch released its update on Immigrants and Nobel Prizes: Immigrants have been awarded 40% of U.S. Nobel Prizes in chemistry, medicine and physics since 2000; and 28% of U.S. Nobel Prizes in economics since 2000. nfap.com/research/new-nfap-p…

Josh Turek: I think the term moderate has become a pejorative almost in modern politics. I'm proudly a moderate.

In a special election designed for maximum turnout by separatists, extremely politely worded and qualified ADVISORY anti-immigrant resolutions passed by tiny margins. Act like this is a mandate and there will be a bigger backlash than with UK voters towards Brexit.

"Powerless" by Harry Turtledove Inspired by Václav Havel's essay "The Power of the Powerless", it is an alternate history following a Los Angeles grocer labeled a dissident in the West Coast People's Democratic Republic. Very powerful and one of Turtledove's best.

I have mentioned that prior to MAGA I seldom felt shame about our government—disagreement or sadness, but not shame. I will feel shame if American farmers cheer this. The red dye in diesel now represents blood. wapo.st/3VHK0s0

Another way to think about Trump announcement today: If he increased US diesel imports from Canada by 4%, he would gain as much fuel as from this Russia deal. But the Canadians are global super-villains, so who wants to buy from them when you could enrich Putin instead?

H1Bs earn more than US-born workers with the same credentials. Call them "cheap" is a more nuanced lie than claiming they eat cats, but it is still a lie.

BREAKING: Costco, major league baseball stadiums, and Harvard cause hundreds of thousands of cancer deaths every year. Not really. But @econpragmatist and @Dr_A_Stein reanalysis of @HarvardChanSPH study on cancer deaths and proximity to nuclear power plants shows that you can use the exact same methodology and data to reach this conclusion. File this study under lies, damn lies, and statistics...

Turek just won one of my token $25 contributions. A lot of Democrats stress treating immigrants like human beings (a GOOD thing, don't misunderstand me) but too few seem willing to argue the economic benefits. turek4iowa.com/
I'm glad that a Democrat can see a big (perhaps the biggest) flaw in the US legal immigration system: there is effectively no path to immigrate legally if you're working in a year-round job not requiring a college degree.

Even if freemarketeers like Friedman and Forbes embrassed the term, "capitalism" is inherently a slur. Should capital be favored over labor? Should producers be favored over consumers? Free markets do neither of those things, but the label "capitalism" implies it.

MAGA is trying hard to make all the vile lies about America true, but you are wrong. While there are always hypocrites with authoritarian dreams, too many people have freely given their lives for the liberty of others for your cynicism to be anything more than a distortion.
