A new species of owl has been identified, the Principe Scops Owl. It is endemic (found only there) on the tiny island of Principe off the west coast of Africa.

We see bald eagles everywhere here in western Washington, but not so often very close. This juvenile was one of over 50 I counted along the shoreline in Alaska and I couldn’t resist a photo shoot!
