At this stage, grassroots music venues and promoters are professional gamblers: hedging their bets on artists that excite them and/or draw a crowd...
And with the over-reliance on bar sales to actually pay the increasing costs, bookings will lean further towards the 'safer' bets
This can, and will be, solved. The question is when, how, and by whom.

Horrendous. Truly horrendous.
This is getting very real now. If Moles can disappear, any grassroots music venue can.
🚨Devastating news🚨 @MolesBath , a 45-year beacon of live music, declares insolvency, PERMANENTLY closing its doors! Rising costs & the cost-of-living crisis crushed this legendary venue. ALL future events CANCELED!

Yesterday I got arrested whilst filming a @JustStop_Oil supporter holding a banner on the pavement near the coronation route. I'm a filmmaker and had my @BECTU press accreditation visible around my neck.
Police deemed this to be "conspiracy to commit a public nuisance".
