Lovely meeting you, @michaeljknowles! If you ever visit Vegas, let me know. 💜
A coworker’s wife recently had a stroke, and she might not make it. Please pray for her and her family.
In 2025, I was on-and-off discerning becoming a celibate nun or religious sister while begging Saint Augustine to send me a man just like him (except obviously not becoming a bishop as he did) into my life to be my future husband if I am supposed to get married.
Once I get married, I’ll reflect on how this prayer was answered. 😅
St. Augustine (AD 354 – AD 430) until he was age 32:
> had issues with pride of life, intellectual pride, and sins of the flesh
> neglected his Greek homework
> had a baby momma situation
> got involved in a weird heretical cult
St. Augustine at age 32:
> got baptized alongside his son — decades of his mother’s prayers were answered
St. Augustine after age 32:
> became a great bishop, philosopher, and lover of his community
> wrote witty, funny, intelligent works that serve as an important foundation for much of Catholic theology and made him a Doctor of the Church
> used Latin puns and dad humor in his sermons as a spiritual father
> holy men want to be like him, holy women love him
Truly, every Saint has a past, and every sinner has a future.
Here is the Baptistery of San Giovanni alle Fonti in Milan, Italy, where Saint Ambrose baptized Saint Augustine and his son on the Easter night of 387 AD, at the time of year that is right around my birthday.
Baptism is the Sacrament of being reborn through Christ by the power of His Resurrection—it’s touching to think about my birth alongside Saint Augustine’s rebirth into eternal life. Similarly, it is touching to think about Christ’s Birth alongside Christ’s Resurrection.
The natural and supernatural worlds collide in beautiful ways, where space and time are no barriers to connection.
Finding Truth Himself has been life’s greatest adventure, sacrifice, and tranquility all at once. He offers an intense yet peaceful life of paradoxes and mysteries that make so much simple sense the closer one becomes to Him.
The world is chaotic, but Heavenly riches live unified inside us.

Saint Peregrine, pray for us.
As devotion to Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows, continues, I found an excellent article (link below) on how Saint Monica participated in the redemption of her son, Saint Augustine, by letting go of control and surrendering her own sorrow to God, Who had much greater plans for Saint Augustine than Saint Monica did herself.
I’m thinking of mogging my (also Catholic) boss today with my knowledge of the complete works of St. Augustine. 😎
Unrelated but my assigned workload might double after that…
To not forgive would be to not trust in a God Who’s so great that He can re-create the worst sinners into humanity’s most glorious heroes.
Forgiveness can still come with boundaries in the meantime depending on the case, but we offer the suffering to God while willing the good for that person, whether that person ends up accepting God’s graces or not.
God makes things new and better than before according to His timing.
A “random” Hawaiian guy changed my life today.
Everything happens for a reason.
I’ll let the story be a mystery for now. Happy Sunday!
We all have two choices in life, since we are all weak at least to some degree in our fallen human nature:
(1) Be weak and alone.
(2) Be weak but let the infinitely strong Arm of God fight on your behalf.
Saint Sebastian,
who miraculously survived being shot with arrows during the ancient persecution of Catholics,
please pray for all persecuted Catholics today.
Just enjoyed Confession and consulting the Spouse of the Holy Spirit before work! 🩵
I love to imagine her Crown of Twelve Stars as her wedding ring with God.
“And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars…”

This has been my energy lately…

Unrelated but I had a dream last night where I was smoking a Mayflower Cigar…
