While he sounds remorseful, remember he only took it down after AO3 themselves got involved. Sounds more like he got hit with legal trouble and is now trying to make up excuses for why he did this.

I don’t believe this story at all…there is no possible way for one person to do this in 4 days by accessing Google drives. All of my podfics were on there. Like, the text version AO3 work that just listed the link on how to access the MP3’s. No one is saving a PDF/EPUB of that

This domain was registered only one day ago. Doesn't mean they weren active under a different name before that but noone noticed it. The amount of stories being "kidnapped" speaks for a deep breach over a longer period. The server(s) seem to have been compromised.
