My ussie wish list is long, but the “never met” (or missed moments) list shrinks every year. This year my list starts with Dr. Judy Owens from Harvard Medical. It was an honor to present with her on “Co-Production in Sleep Research” for @ResearchSleep #SleepPeeps #SLEEP2025 1/
Walked into the hotel and ran into this fella. Kicking off this year’s selfie-streak with one of my two sleep besties, @SleepAndSports. Last year will be hard to surpass but records are meant to be broken. Miss you @jocharest1 #SleepPeeps #SLEEP2024

Billionaires buy the channels, decide who gets heard, then call whatever survives “free speech.” Funny how the marketplace of ideas turns into a gated community the moment someone makes a documentary about the landlord.

This will impact AI psychosis the same way flooding the streets with cheap fentanyl impacted the opioid crisis.
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence. block.xyz/dessa

More evening sunlight sounds appealing, but comes at a cost to our health. Our internal clocks depend on the timing of light exposure, and morning light better aligns our rhythms with the natural light-dark cycle. It’s time to put biology at the center of the DST debate!

Sleep advice is everywhere on social media, but is it reliable? A study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine evaluated 127 TikTok videos about insomnia management and found that only 15.7% offered high educational value. View the full article here: hubs.la/Q04BRfRf0

Good news: the extraordinarily unethical RFK Jr.-backed hepatitis B vaccine trial in Guinea-Bissau will not proceed. Withholding the birth dose from newborns would have put them at risk of preventable infection and lifelong consequences - including liver cancer.

Today I turn 88…I’ve seen some serious shit. The most serious of it all is love. I love my family, my friends, and my wonderful fans. The power of love remains.

Senator Cotton is right. Permanent Daylight Savings has been tried and Americans didn’t like it. The better way is permanent Standard Time because it’s based on science. No dark mornings, it keeps our time in sync with the Sun, and no more changing the clocks. Arizona has been on Standard Time year round since 1968 without issue.
No one likes changing the clock, me included, but Congress has enacted permanent Daylight Savings Time multiple times before and repealed it each time once Americans experienced absurdly late sunrises in the winter. Arkansans don’t want their kids going to school in the pitch dark, and I’ll always put Arkansas first.

As people with narcolepsy (NT1) in the US, Japan, and China approach the dawn of a new era of wakefulness, I find myself full of gratitude for those who made it possible. I’ve been fortunate to glimpse behind the curtain at multiple pharma co, but never quite like Tatsuhiko. 2/

As an advocate-author I have collaborated with brilliant minds in sleep medicine. I was the first advocate to meet with Centessa/Orexia leadership before a molecule was even selected. I also have relationships across Alkermes and Takeda. Yet so much of this read was new. 4/

There are too many people to individually thank for bringing orexin receptor agonists to market, but Dr. Tatsuhiko Fujimoto warrants a personal thanks. So much gratitude for your support and efforts my friend! Please excuse the long-winded monologue, I’m excited. Final/
