✨🏆 I won an award. 🤯
Every year for 4yrs, I’ve submitted something to the @CreativeF_uture writing competition, and usually my piece gets ignored. This year, I won the Bronze Award for Creative Non-Fiction.
I wrote a little piece for @BeeLitMag about why I can't wear tracksuit anymore. Class has a uniform - prove me wrong

My latest Substack is a personal one, as I explore what being forced to leave home at 18 does to young people. I hope you enjoy ⬇️

A quote text box overlays the image 'It's easy to cocoon yourself in expectations because we feel we're not supposed to be here. Once I gave myself permission to be here, the expectations started to melt away. Matt Taylor, MST Creative Writing.'
Well done @RicDiaghe. 🥳 It was honour to present you with InspirationAward this year. May your amazing work with @mantramusic_uk continue. 🙏

Out with the fantastic @highpeaklabour @Jon4HighPeak this morning on #NationalCampaignDay🌹
Voters in Buxton are telling us how much they want a Labour Government and Keir Starmer in Downing Street.
Thanks, @KevinBrennanMP, for raising how energy prices are crippling recording studios right now. Studios in the UK hold as much cultral heritage as churches.

I've called for a debate on the importance of recording studios to our creative industries. The BBC is selling off @MaidaValeMuso - which ought to be kept as part of our musical heritage. Plus many studios are struggling - so why aren't they eligible for the energy bills scheme?
Really happy to vote for this at full council last night. A fantastic campaign by @TerryGalloway - and thank you also to my friend @matttaylor___ who has been banging the drum in this area and educating colleagues in the music industry. 👏👏
Believe it or not I'm somewhere in this picture. Amazing the crazy things author readings do to writing students. Thanks @lucyatkins @OxMst
