The phasing out of DVDs / rise of streaming culture is robbing us of all of the behind the scenes and bloopers footage. These things inspired A LOT of us to go into the arts and pursue working in the entertainment industry in any capacity.

Getting a $6 PER HOUR raise after a strike threat is a great illustration of the fact that the money to give you a raise is already there--but if you don't have a union, your boss just keeps it for themselves. hamiltonnolan.com/p/every-pa…
14,000 Disneyland workers just won a 31% raise after threatening to strike. It’s their biggest ever wage increase.
Most workers will see a $6.10/hour bump, and minimum pay is rising to $24/hour this year. Strike threats work.
ALT disneyland workers hold signs reading "bippity boppity boost our pay" "we'll get gta6 before our backpay" "stingiest place on earth" and "we deserve more than the bare necessities"

It's really important to have at least three hours to write every day so you can spend the first two hours squirming and checking the internet and daydreaming before getting down to it.

A US serviceman self-immolating in front of the Israeli embassy in protest of the Gaza genocide while a first responder screams at police to stop pointing their guns at his burning body and go grab fire extinguishers just might be the most American thing that has ever happened.

Listening to Ed Zwick on Maron and he talks about a time that he got defensive over the plot of a script he was writing and Sydney Pollack told him “plot is the meat that the burglars throw to the dogs when they climb over the wall to get to the jewels, which are the characters.”
