people think AI users are lazy. it's the opposite. i've never worked this much in my life. the difference is that now the hours go into the thing i actually care about, not into fighting tools i don't understand

STORY TIME:
Last night, I met a pretty awesome human being, @me2you.
We ended up having one of those conversations you don’t really expect to have with a stranger on the internet. We talked about art, life, and everything in between. I genuinely enjoyed his company and energy.
Somewhere along the way, I found out that he had actually taken the time to visit my website.
Now, that might not sound like much, but it meant a lot to me. I built that website for myself, simply because I wanted a place where I could experience my own creations exactly the way I envisioned them.
He’s probably one of the very few people who have ever explored it.
And while he was there, something caught his eye.
Blind Fire.
There’s a bit of history behind this piece.
I created it during a particularly angry night. I had so much frustration bottled up that I needed somewhere to put it, so I started drafting a concept.
What began as an emotional outlet eventually became a month of work.
When I finally released it, I was pretty proud of what I’d made.
But nobody bought it.
Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months.
It was the only edition release I’d ever made that received absolutely no love from the market.
And naturally, I started questioning myself.
Maybe the work just sucked. Maybe nobody connected with it. Maybe I was the only person who saw something in it.
And you know what? That’s okay. Not everything we create is going to resonate with everyone.
Fast forward through many moons and plenty of self-doubt, and here comes this wonderful stranger who somehow finds the very piece I’d almost given up on.
He loved it.
And that alone meant more to me than he probably realizes.
So I decided to make it his.
Blind Fire is now a 1/1. There will never be another copy.
Not because it suddenly became valuable, or because somebody finally wanted it.
But because I wanted the person who genuinely connected with it to have something that was truly his.
And here’s the part I love most.
As our conversation continued, he told me that he’s also beginning his own journey as an artist. He even shared his website, where he’s showcasing his very first work.
I went into that conversation thinking I was simply meeting someone who appreciated my art.
I came out of it having met another artist, someone with his own ideas, aspirations, and stories waiting to be told.
It’s funny how things work out sometimes.
A piece I made out of anger ended up bringing me a little happiness, a new friendship, and a reminder of why I fell in love with making art in the first place.
Sometimes your work just needs to find the right person.
And sometimes, in the process, you find a pretty wonderful person yourself.
Thank you, @me2you. I’m glad our paths crossed.
And to everyone reading this, please take a moment to check out his work and show him some love. Every artist starts somewhere, and a little encouragement can go a long way.
You can view his website through the comment section or on his profile.
P.S. His collection of artworks are beyond amazing!

Today, I’m excited to show you what I’ve been working on these past few months 🖤
I have always had an emotional relationship with numbers, patterns, shapes, and operations. I compulsively count and calculate silently in my head. I’ve only ever told a few people about this. Because it’s weird, and I used to be embarrassed of it. For a long time, it was severely distressing to me, because it was uncontrollable and relentless. For many years, I woke up every morning hoping it’d be the day that it finally stops
It never stopped, but over time it softened into subtle background noise, and then into something I could manage. I eventually began to actually enjoy it. It’s now a comfort to me, because it gives me a sense of control, especially in the moments when I can’t control much else
A few months ago, I was looking through old math textbooks on Internet Archive. I came across this underlined phrase: “number is a means of expressing ideas in a definite way.” And that’s when I understood why counting and computation are personally significant to me. A number converts a formless, fluid thought into something certain. And mathematics is a language for understanding one’s own thoughts with clarity and security
The 64 looping gifs in this series are derived from the visual language of computation. The initial assets for each piece were AI blends of old images of terminal screens, graphical interfaces, calculator displays, vacuum tubes, punch cards, analog calculators, and other remnants of early computing. And each piece is about what numbers, mathematics, and computers mean to me, emotionally. Thank you very much for letting me share them with you 🖤
