My article, on mediatisation in the 1965 Indo-Pak war, is out now in JSAS.
It took about a million years to get all the copyright permissions for this piece so please do have a look and share your thoughts!

let’s be very clear about what’s going on in this cover because I think it so aptly captures the incredibly subtle and strategic reactionary politics of the @NewYorker ⬇️

THREAD: On Tuesday evening it appeared the end was finally in sight. Hamas formally accepted the ceasefire proposal put forward by Egypt and Qatar, and spontaneous celebrations erupted in the streets Rafah and other Palestinian towns in the Gaza Strip.

UPDATE: President Halloway has agreed to 8 of the 10 demands given by Rutgers SJP and the students in the encampment. Most notably the demands for total divestment and the termination of its partnership with Tel Aviv University are “things not in the President’s control”.
Thus the president has agreed to a future negotiation and meeting with 5 students from the chapter and what I believe is an advisory board, so long as the students took down the tents by 4pm.
After an hour long discussion the students decided to close the encampment to secure their 8 demands and bargain directly for the latter two in a future meeting with the Joint Committee of Investment

My husband, Prof. Steve Tamari, is out of the hospital. He will need surgery on his hand, and he is in pain from nine broken ribs. We are asking for time to rest and heal. We will not be taking media interviews at this time. Here is Steve's statement and ways you can support.

Today locked out of offices. Not just a place of work but the place we define by our teaching and research without which it is literally nothing more than a bunch of badly managed assets and a hospital.

In 1969, during the March on Washington to end the Vietnam War, Princeton students held up a banner saying “Even Princeton”. It’s a favorite story of mine to describe this place.
Today, I too can say Even Princeton, Even Princeton. Free Palestine, for it frees us.

Mass graves uncovered in Gaza show victims’ hands were tied before they were killed and buried. Among the dead are doctors, zip tied and still wearing their scrubs.
