Statement from @WCKitchen re the murder of Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom & her 6 colleagues:
“7 members of our team have been killed in an IDF strike in Gaza… Despite coordinating movements with the IDF, the convoy was hit as it was leaving the Deir al-Balah warehouse”
RIP Australian Zomi Frankcom reportedly killed by an Israeli airstrike in #Gaza People like Zomi are absolute heroes. Rushing in to help as Gazans are being starved, while our leaders provide cover for these Israeli crimes. Heartbroken for her family abc.net.au/news/2024-04-02/a…

What gets me about this is the unnecessary trauma @ClareONeilMP’s department put these Gazan refugees through - by cancelling and then reinstating these visas.
The inhumanity of it is just so jarring.
The ABC understands a number of visa cancellations are now being reversed, with additional security and other checks conducted by Home Affairs now complete. ab.co/4chlH8a

I’m actually almost speechless at this story. This is so breathtakingly, brazenly, cruelly depraved that I don’t know what to say. Every time you think this country can’t possibly sink further into the darkness in its treatment of refugees, it finds a new layer of hell.

Palestinians fleeing the war in Gaza have been left in despair and financial distress after being granted Australian visas only to be told they were cancelled while en route to Australia. smh.com.au/politics/federal/…

These laws will lead to more children, especially First Nations children, in custody. Locking children up doesn't make communities safer. We urge the government not to introduce these reforms.

On IWD we mourn the 9000+ Palestinian women killed by Israel and all those disappeared, lost to forced famine & poor hygiene.
And we stand with the 1 million Palestinian women & girls still enduring genocide.
1/ On International Women’s Day, Palestinian women in Gaza continue to endure an ongoing genocide at the hands of the Israeli military. See thread to hear from them.

Doron Almog is walking around freely in Australia. He has been too scared to visit the UK since his 2005 evasion of justice because he fears he will be forced to answer to the allegations against him. Why should he walk freely while his victims suffer? @SenatorWong @andrewjgiles

TIG notes the Second Reading Speech, which does not mention transport, arguing that if Parliament had intended to expand the definition of "import", it would have done so here.
TIG admits that if the Court finds against them, that's it for the company/its subsidiaries - it must cease all its activities. They didn't mention the potential criminal liability for all of its activities to date (ie continuing to mine Russian coal unabated).
