Nigerian media entrepreneur Mo Abudu has opened a London cinema dedicated to African and Black films, driven in part by her experience growing up in England. Now, she wants to create a space where African and Black filmmakers can take charge of the narrative.

Last Thursday we mobilised in Coventry as part of the international day of action against Palantir. More than 3,700 people have backed our call for Coventry City Council to drop Palantir, yet it has renewed the contract for another year. Shame on them! Our public money should serve our communities, not entrench corporate power. ✊🏽 We’ll keep fighting! Join us: actionnetwork.org/petitions/…

A long time coming. The lives of the Grenfell community have been on pause for the last nine years, while those responsible for the deaths of 72 innocent people have continued to live theirs. I hope all those found responsible end up behind bars, where they should have been a long time ago, and that we finally see justice delivered.

They will be on the right side of history 🇮🇪
Republic of Ireland’s players are considering boycotting Sunday’s match against Israel after Gavin Bazunu, the goalkeeper, said he did not want to play. Meetings are taking place at the team’s hotel in Hungary this morning as the players discuss whether they will collectively refuse to play the Nations League game as an act of protest against Israel’s actions in Gaza. 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/football/202…

What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage. When the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed on stage and which ones are too dangerous to hear, everyone should be paying attention. So we're going on tour. All proceeds will benefit organizations supporting the Palestinian people and movement. Sign up at macklemore.com

We salute you, Hannah Einbinder. Netanyahu should be in the dock at The Hague, not welcomed with a red carpet. Solidarity with Hannah and everyone protesting the presence of this genocidal maniac in New York.

If war criminal Tony Blair tells you to do something, do the opposite.
Sir Tony Blair has urged the West not to slow down the pace of AI after Silicon Valley chiefs warned about the existential threat posed by the technology. The former prime minister, a keen advocate of AI, said pausing development risked “profound and compounding disadvantages” for society which were just as serious as the menace posed by highly intelligent bots. 🔗 hhttps://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2026/09/21/tony-blair-dont-slow-down-on-ai/?WT.mc_id=tmgoff_tw_post_dont-slow-down-on-ai/

What about the young people in Gaza being bombed with weapons you’ve personally signed off? Should they be grateful too? Or do they not matter, Andy?
I didn’t become Prime Minister to just make a few tweaks around the edges. I want to change the way this country works. For too long, politics became comfortable with the idea that some things just can't be fixed. People sleeping on our streets. Huge inequalities between different parts of the country. Young people unable to afford a home. Communities watching decisions about their future being taken somewhere else, by someone else. Governments have talked about those things. They've even promised to fix them. But too often, they've reached the same conclusion: it just can't be done. I don't accept that, and I never have. That’s why we’ve invested to offer everyone who needs it a route off the streets by Christmas. It's why we've announced the biggest council housebuilding programme since the Second World War. It's why we're opening 159 new mental health centres. It's why we've finally put technical education on par with the academic route. It's why we're delivering the biggest transfer of power out of Westminster and into local communities in a generation. And it's why we opened No10 North too. Not as another government office. But because I believe one thing very strongly: Britain won't be rebuilt from the top down. You have to put power back in the hands of the people and places that know their communities best - and then put the full weight of government behind them. I also want to give people a bit of breathing space too. That's why we've cut tax on electricity bills, capped bus fares at £2, and made subscriptions easier to cancel. It’s why we've cracked down on fake discounts and cut business rates for pubs, social clubs and music venues. And it's why we've extended the 16-17 Saver Railcard and introduced free 24/7 bus travel for disabled people. That is the change we have started. More power for our communities, more support on the cost of living and a long-term plan to rebuild the country. Each one of those changes is part of the same thing. Good growth in every postcode. Reindustrialising Britain. And making sure wherever you live - and whatever your background - you feel this country has a future for you. Because, in the end, that's what this is about: bringing back hope.

Glen, is an amazing activists and has proven to be an invaluable organiser for the @RMTunion. He makes us proud how being the 1st black officer elected can empower and inspire others to step up. Lets protect our Black workers who face the worst racism you can imagine!
Great news! @RMTunion and @unisontheunion launch #InsourceNow. After 4 years representing outsourced workers, I’ve seen extreme racism. Outsourcing exploits labour and differences. Insourcing should mean better pay, security, dignity, and equality. insourcenowlaunch.eventbrite…

Today, we remember Sean Rigg, brother of @marcia_rigg who died in police custody on August 21, 2008. 40 year old Sean Rigg was a musician and producer. He died at Brixton police station on the evening of 21st August 2008. Sean, who suffered from schizophrenia, was arrested in Balham, London, while in the grip of a mental health crisis. He was restrained by police officers and held with pressure applied to his back and neck for seven minutes. Marcia, an activist and panellist, has campaigned vigorously on the critical issues of mental health and policing in the UK, calling for urgent reform. Rest in Peace Sean Rigg.🖤🙏🏾

You forgot to mention you’re still selling arms to Israel, making you complicit in the genocide of Palestinians.
Today marked one month since I became Prime Minister. Cutting tax on electricity bills. Capping bus fares at £2 in England. Making subscriptions easier to cancel. Cracking down on fake discounts. Giving 14-year-olds early access to technical education. Opening 159 new mental health centres. Investing to get all rough sleepers off the street this winter. Supporting farmers affected by the drought. Cutting business rates for pubs, clubs, and music venues. Shutting down 13 more asylum hotels. Giving mayors a share of income tax. Extending the 16-17 Saver Railcard. Bringing buses in the West Midlands under public control. Fast-tracking new homes near train stations. Cleaning up illegal waste dumps. Giving communities and councils more power over what opens on their high street. Opening No10 North. Giving disabled people 24/7 free bus travel. Delivering the biggest transfer of power, funding and responsibility from Westminster in a generation. It's a start, but I’m not complacent. I know that people need more and I promise that I will do everything I can to make yours and your family’s lives better. We're doing things differently to give people more breathing space and bring back hope. Here’s to the next month.
