My people in the Philippines have been getting fucking battered with super typhoons for years, too. Drowning and towns submerged โ people losing everything, including my older brother and his family from Typhoon Ondoy/Ketsana in 2009.

In Sept 2010, LAPD pig Frank Hernandez killed Manuel Jamines Xun in MacArthur Park area. This public execution w no trial culminated particularly intense period of criminalization of SVs in area. The people rose up and rioted for 3 days.

ALT Bass also has a theory about what happens to young radicals as they get older. They have children and parenthood tempers their ideological purity with the practical demands of raising a family. The activists who once demanded radical change begin worrying about their children's safety, their schools, and whether the neighborhood is a decent place to grow up. Their priorities change.

Just watched an immigration court hearing for a detained 15 yr old that started out with the judge asking about his Halloween plans & ended with her ordering him deported.
The lack of justice for immigrant kids right now in our immigration courts is stunningly diabolical.

UPDATE: Evacuations are under way near Mayon Volcano in the Philippines.
Around 120 families are leaving three villages in Camalig, while five communities in Tabaco City have also been ordered to evacuate.
Flights near the volcano are banned until 11:53am Philippine time on Saturday.
