The Devils have signed delisted West Coast Eagle, Jack Williams
He’ll play with the VFL team in 2027 and is expected to claim an AFL list spot in 2028.
He’s the second delisted AFL player to sign with Tasmania, and commit for 2028, in as many days
@abcsport
What the fuck are they doing to this league?
Essendon and Richmond will be taking Dreamtime to Perth in 2027.
It will be a second Dreamtime game. First in SDNR at the MCG, the second at Optus in NAIDOC week.
The two clubs are selling a game each to generate cash. It’s a two year deal - Essendon home game in 27, Richmond in 28.
But - members are expected to have extra seating arranged at away MCG games to make up for the home game heading West. More on @7AFL @7NewsMelbourne shortly.

The first Eagle to play 75 AFLW games in the blue and gold 👏
A huge milestone for Emma and for the Club this Sunday against the Swans.
Common sense from Common Sense Swanny, I see it but I don’t believe it.
Carlton and Richmond are set to lose their primetime slot in Round 1 of the 2027 season.
After years of opening proceedings at the MCG… and having an FTA slot, the league has concerns about the quality of the game.
Sat/Sun afternoon looming. @7AFL @7NewsMelbourne

This would be cool and all except that's blatantly holding the ball. Umpiring in the dub really is in the mud.

Drugs bad, blah blah, whatever.
Really good message from the AFL saying the manner in which this became public (getting medical help) was part of the issue.
A great way to have someone die instead of going to hospital next time.
AFL statement:
The AFL confirms Carlton player Lachlan Cowan has been found guilty of conduct unbecoming and suspended for two matches following an investigation into his use of an illicit substance last weekend and the circumstances in which the matter subsequently became public.
The Carlton Football Club investigated the matter and subsequently provided information to the AFL, which conducted further enquiries.
Cowan has been suspended for the first two home and away matches of 2027 and issued a $5,000 suspended fine.
The matter will also constitute a notifiable adverse finding under the AFL’s Illicit Drugs Policy.
Cowan will be required to undertake further education above the current mandated training on illicit substances and their effects.
“AFL Players have a responsibility to themselves and their professional careers to uphold community expectations. They are well-educated when it comes to the harms associated with the use of illicit substances. Lachlan admitted his mistake and understands he must be accountable for his actions,” AFL COO Tom Harley said.
The AFL’s new illicit drugs policy will come into effect in January 2027 after education sessions with every club and player across November and December.
All players will be hair tested upon their return to training in January, with readings going as far back as three to six months prior.
