There are multiple paths to consumer AI agents. General purpose personal agents is the obvious starting point but it puts you on a collision course with the hyperscalers and labs from day one.
It also means you need leading talent in everything from GPUs to agent harnesses from day 1.
Those choices create an interesting path dependence over-indexes towards solving super-intelligence than towards something that delivers immediate value for consumers.
I believe the least-fortified path to consumer AI agents is actually to get the data first, and solve for the agency later.
Why is it always OpenAI agents. Is it a reporting issue? Surely other frontier labs are testing the limits as well
My first biz dev role was with a youth charity when I was 21. We mailed plastic mannequin feet to everyone who had won Young Entrepreneur of the Year asking them to help us get a foot in the door with corporate donors in their network. Worked really well.

This was the future of CX/UX I had imagined. Every company, platform, product have a tireless concierge to help customers get stuff done.
People mistake competitiveness for greed.
The self-made billionaires class exist because they competed ruthlessly to win the most customers in the largest markets. Most people don鈥檛 care enough to compete, or lose their nerve along the way.
Started making ad creative using different AI platforms and realising that I'm missing an entire vocabulary around producing images/video
