007 — Seven is the Sabbath, when Yahweh appears in the Bible.
Double-0 — A “double” or Doppelgänger of Bond’s first adversary, “Le Chiffre,” explicitly identified as Jewish in the book, the cipher or zero.
James — originates in Hebrew as “Jacob,” which will become “Israel.”
Bond — Is James “bonded” to Israel? “Bond” is also a name for a financial instrument, which only adds to what I’m suggesting.
Alcohol and cigarettes (fire) — Dionysus and Yahweh?
Was Ian Fleming an esotericist or initiate? As always, this could be chalked up to coincidence, or perhaps an unconscious manifestation.
But we should countenance the possibility that James Bond is coded as Jewish—a “secret agent,” if you will.
