For example, the Traverse international trial studied the combination Acalabrutinib-Venetoclax-Rituximab in newly diagnosed MCL. I look forward to sharing this data in an oral presentation in the coming ASH meeting in New Orleans in this December!
MRD is becoming a routine method to guide prognosis and therapy in mantle cell lymphoma. MRD will become a primary end-point for trials. It will help define the concept of cure.
But currently many use chemo-free triple combinations with BTK inhibitor-Bcl-2 inhibitor-antiCD20 antibody for both young and older pts with untreated mantle cell lymphoma. There is rapid accumulation of data. This chemo-free approach at frontline is very exciting and promising!
We used to treat young and older pts with mantle cell lymphoma differently. Because young pts could tolerate intensive chemotherapy, median survival of 12 years (hyperCVAD or auto stem cell transplant). But older pts were treated with less intensive therapy, survival of 7 years.
I will be presenting a time to next treatment analysis of the ECHO MCL trial tomorrow later afternoon. I am looking forward to it!
It has been a while I did any X. I have been busy taking care of patients, conducting clinical trials, directing lab research, writing grants and publishing manuscripts. Love all these activities. Best regards!

I have been attending the European Hematology Association annul conference in Stockholm, Sweden, lots of data on treatment of lymphoma!
There is no better job in the whole wide world than saving patient lives!
🚨 On May 13, 2026, the FDA granted accelerated approval to sonrotoclax for adults with R/R #MantleCellLymphoma after at least two prior lines of therapy, including a BTK inhibitor.

This finding on stem-like CAR-T cells is indeed intriguing. It could potentially revolutionize current treatment modalities for B-cell malignancies by eliminating the need for lymphodepletion and reducing the risk of cytokine storms. What do you think this means for the future of CAR-T cell therapies in broader applications? Small but significant study showing superiority of stem-like CAR-T cells (expanded in IL7/IL21/Wnt activation) (no lymphodepletion, better persistency, no cytokine storm etc) to conventional CAR-T for B-cell malignancies. cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092…
