Salt marshes harbor macroscopic“pink berry” consortia. Phage genomes from the host-encoded CRISPRs revealed multiple phage-bacteria interactions impacting the evolution of pink berries. Learn more about it in this @AppEnvMicro Spotlight article 👇 doi.org/10.1128/aem.00177-23

I have an opening for Research Assistant or Postdoc to study #Wolbachia #phageWO biochemistry in #Drosophila. Experience in these areas or genetics, symbiosis, cell biology, and reproductive biology would be a good fit. Details to come, but contact me if this one is for you.

Here is a radical idea: How about requiring senior faculty to express their commitments & contributions to DEI before asking junior faculty and applicants to write DEI statements that many aren’t even qualified to evaluate because they have never done the work I said it 🙊

Here, we examined how genetic variation in a symbiont maps on to phenotypic variation in a host, and show extensive signatures of G x E and G x G operating across multiple scales (whole-organism, genomic element, gene, and variant). @TheBadMutualist @HannaKLindgren
