NO DOUBT!
Update on the twilight encounter, October 26, 2026 – L'Aquila, Italy.
Eyewitness states: I wanted to provide an update regarding an important development concerning my sighting.
I know someone who works at a wildlife center in Pescara, Italy. On October 26, I sent them the photographs, asking for an assessment. On November 1, at approximately 8:40 PM, I received a phone call from them.
They were unable to identify the subject or link it to any species known to exist in the Abruzzo region. They did agree that some of its features are reminiscent of a moth. With my consent, they asked to share the photographs with another center for further analysis. So, for now, conventional birds of prey or mammals have been ruled out. What has further fueled comparisons to the so-called "Mothman" is the timing—it coincided with a 3.0-magnitude earthquake in Barete, in the province of L'Aquila, on October 29, 2026. This connection stems from the lore surrounding the Mothman, a figure in folklore often associated with sightings that precede natural phenomena or disasters. As I have emphasized in my social media posts, there is no definitive evidence that the two events are linked, but the coincidence has certainly been noted.
The close timing of these two occurrences has naturally drawn a lot of attention. Of course, there is currently no evidence to prove a connection between the sighting and the seismic event. Nevertheless, it remains interesting to observe how this coincidence is being interpreted in light of the stories and accounts surrounding the Mothman. I am also curious to hear the perspective of those familiar with such traditions. I am sharing with you all the clearest photos that I also sent to a local wildlife center. I was quite disappointed that I couldn't capture any video; I feared that, much like in the images, it would have just appeared as a black dot. With the photographs, I managed to get a somewhat decent focus by adjusting the lens. Unfortunately, it was twilight, and I am using a Samsung Galaxy A20—a model from a few years ago.
On Monday, October 26, at 5:43 PM, I was in a residential area of L'Aquila, near my home. It’s a route I’ve walked for years, and during my strolls, I often take photos of the trees, the sky, and my surroundings.
That afternoon, I was watching a flock of birds when I noticed, at some distance, a figure significantly larger than the other creatures. It was moving slowly, and at first, I thought it might be some kind of man-made object, perhaps a parachute. I kept walking, but I turned back several times to track its movement. At one point, I noticed subtle movements and two bright spots where the head seemed to be. I stopped again to get a better look. Naturally, I first considered the most likely explanations: the Abruzzo region is home to a diverse range of wildlife, so, given the distance, it could have been a bird of prey, a large bat, or some other animal. However, the silhouette struck me due to a few distinct features. It was entirely dark, set against the twilight sky. Near the head, two small, light-colored—almost white—points were visible; they were somewhat reminiscent of the way a cat’s eyes reflect light, though the hue was colder. The head appeared to be tucked between the shoulders, while the body vaguely resembled that of an adult human. The wings seemed very large in proportion to the rest of the body. Overall, the figure had a compact, rounded, black silhouette. Its surface appeared almost soft, as if covered in dense plumage or fur—though the distance and lighting conditions made it impossible to discern any details with certainty. For a few seconds, I watched it glide slowly, gradually losing altitude, only to regain some of it with a few measured, deliberate wingbeats. It also performed several circular rotations—seemingly turning a full 360 degrees—before continuing on and repeating similar movements, as if searching for something or observing its surroundings. I cannot determine its exact altitude or its actual size. I can say that it appeared to be well above the power lines in the area, and the proportions of the silhouette were, in a way, reminiscent of a human figure. I also noticed that some birds passed nearby without showing any obvious reaction. This might simply be a coincidence, but it is another detail I recall from the incident.
I would be interested to hear your impressions—even the more skeptical ones.
Any observations are welcome.

Agreed
Only domestic pets are getting cancer and they are getting it more aggressively.
Animals in the wild don’t get it
