Over the course of a year, Twitter has gone from mostly positive and fact based conversations to lots of baseless accusations and intimidation/bully comments. All the tech people I loved to read tips/ideas from have left. I'm putting Twitter on hold and eval at some future time – at Lake Goodwin, WA
Making good on my promise to consume too many fries... And waffles... and pancakes #KubeConEU #KubeCon2023 – at Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Getting in a day to visit this beautiful city (consume an unhealthy amount of frites) and touristing before my first #KubeCon #KubeConEU
I’m attending #KubeCon + #CloudNativeCon in Amsterdam from April 19th - April 21st, and I invite you to stop by Booth P1 for our lightning talk Retail edge solutions with Google Cloud Platform and GitLab on April 21 at 10:30 CEST. bit.ly/3yvBn5j #DevSecOps
Every time I sit in traffic I feel let down by @PopMech for promising flying cars "in the next decade" (circa 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000...) I don't even think flying cars will be a great experience 10 after they are out, we'll just recreate flying highways with the same jams
Well, this is it. Purposefully removing security measures is not a good move. I still believe Musk is trying to kill Twitter so the people don't have a collective voice
If you haven't already done this, please type "git config --global init.defaultBranch main" into your terminal so we can continue to be friends :)
If you don't think the Christian Right wants to change the constitution and make our country a Christian theocracy, these are some of the signs. We were founded on NOT establishing a government religion. This was just mailed to me and it's already in the recycle bin
Really easy way to find the people you followed!
movetodon.org
On Mastodon, I now follow 25% the accounts I follow here.
Found movetodon.org an interactive tool to follow folks you followed here, much nicer and simpler to use.

A trans friend of mine said that after Twitter stopped banning trans harassment, it took only 12 hours before she started getting death threats. Do we have Free Speech if bullies are allowed to make people afraid to speak?
Great book! I stumbled upon #mermaidjs a few years ago and have been using it for all sorts of diagrams. This book helps bootstrap you to using diagrams as code as well as how to be effective at diagrams... I've learned a few things and highly recommend this book!
Today on Medium, a post about a new book now in beta by Ashley Peacock:

What's to stop outside governments (or even internal) from paying $7.99 and seem legit? #bluecheckmark will now feel shady to me, I'll trust those with it even less

Fearmongering works:
OK violent crime rate: 458 per 100K
NY violent crime rate: 364 per 100K
OK murder rate: 7.25
NY murder rate: 4.11
% of Oklahomans who say crime is most urgent issue: 5
% of New Yorkers: 28
I kinda secretly wanted a blue badge on twitter (I understand why it goes to real important people, I'm not one of them)...by paying for it, it's like paying for friends or respect, just not something I'd ever do
As always, nice job @kaslinfields youtu.be/xScfavWAeJk ... Having thousands of clusters at the edge and not needing to worry about metrics ingestion, or aggregating/duplication across projects is awesome!
One of my favorite things to do over Christmas break!
The #AdventOfCode 2022 site is up! adventofcode.com
If you want to save Christmas from what will no doubt be a preposterous calamity (and maybe learn some programming along the way), then I'll see you December 1st!
One of the coolest things about working at @googlecloud is not that we build world-impacting solutions, build stuff for engineers, "the food"...those are all great, but I can give a gThanks to anyone in the organization and they get a small bonus without question or approvals

I wonder how much less traffic social networks would have if we all followed our mother's advice of "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything"
