Mill Street Community Cafe

It’s not too late for you to enjoy Christmas at the Mill Street Community Café! We have launched our bauble appeal again, raising funds to provide meals for those who need support. This year’s Christmas cards are selling fast! Do come and see us soon!

We’ve just had a lovely evening cooking with these young people from the Youth Commission - it was our first cookery workshop. Well done- yummy fajitas and excellent clearing up team work!

We always try to keep our carbon footprint as small as possible.. we have lovely fresh carrots and herbs from Ladies’ College and beautiful salads from Richard in St. Pierre Du Bois. Veggie curry and lasagna and salads will be the specials this week. See you soon!

We’d like to extend a very warm welcome to all competitors in the Island Games! We are therefore offering you athletes two meals for the price of one while the Games are in progress. Come and see us very soon!

Two more sleeps now… we are nearly ready for our reopening on Wednesday , June 14. There might be a few technical problems which are beyond our control, but you won’t go away hungry and you can be sure that we will give you the warmest of welcomes!

The end is definitely in sight! We will be open again on Wednesday, June 14th! We are looking forward to welcoming you back. Be assured of the same warm welcome: the building may look different, but our ethos remains the same. It’s a community café- designed for everybody!

Yay! We have tiles- it looks so good! Thanks to Darrell for working all weekend for us.

The renovation of the cafe is coming on im leaps and bounds! We bought the paint today, the flooring has been laid and the tiling is almost complete. We are so excited and. We can’t wait for you all to ge able to see it. Thanks again to all of our fabulous tradesmen and Terry!

When the café reopens in June, we will need extra volunteers for front of house duties (welcoming customers, taking orders, serving food, making drinks and clearing tables) and we would love to have people who can cook. Please contact us via [email protected]

Work started in the cafe yesterday! We are grateful that Utopia Construction were able to help us to remove some of our rubbish snd old equipment. We will update you regularly with our progress. 😃
