Brilliantly explained - as always! Thank you ☺️
Hello - I wrote a new blog about the teaching of whole class reading, which I haven't in a while. It's over 9000 words so quite a read, but I hope the comprehensive nature of it comes across as helpful, rather than patronising. Anyway - hope it's useful!

School- term Holidays!!
Just give all parents/carers the right to take one week, just one week, at any time of the year except exam time - let the school decide on that - and much of the problem would disappear overnight.
The kids would not suffer one jot.
RT, if you agree.
Does anyone else in primary school have experience of children ‘playing’ therian games with masks etc? It doesn’t sit right but I don’t want to fetishise innocent play. Thoughts please @edutwitter @PrimaryRocks1

It is eighteen months to-the-day since education lost one wonderful headteacher in Reading. New SoS, Bridget Phillipson announced her recruitment drive for teachers today, I am very much looking forward to her strategy for retention which is doubtless connected to Ofsted reform…

URGENT! Pls share. The last chance to register to vote in the General Election is 11.59pm tomorrow Tue 18 June. Potentially 8m aren't registered at their current address. Here's 4 key facts...
1) You can do it online here registertovote.service.gov.u…
2) It's good for your finances. Not being on electoral roll can make it more difficult to be accepted for credit products like bank accounts or mortgages.
3) You can opt out of the 'Open Register' (which allows your info to be sold on) which will stop you getting junk mail marketing )
4) You'll need ID when you do vote (not to register) if you don't have it, you can get it free until Wed 26 June gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-vo…
This is so true. Heartbreaking but a must read.
