Many years of hard work went into the Poseidon family of hashes, and they have provided great real-world value on Ethereum and elsewhere and will continue to do so for several years. They are the reason why it's fast to generate a client-side SNARK for a modern privacy-protocol.
The fact that we have ultra-fast general-purpose STARKs (mid-three-digit overhead for basically any batched computation) and may well soon drop to double-digit or even lower is more amazing than anything that we had been hoping for in the early 2020s.
Big congratulations to all involved in Poseidon, and all involved in STARKs.

Extended footage - longest video of the massacre found so far - shows what really went down:
Both shooters engaged police in a firefight. One dropped. Minutes later, the 2nd goes down. Both shot (one dead) during the exchange.
No surrender.. no custody. Pure shootout.
Video ends with cops arresting a 3rd person - seemingly a mistake as he was a bystander.
That's active shooter chaos: grab everyone, sort it out later. Who'd blame them.
This rewrites the official story. Police said "one dead, one in custody critical condition."
Reality: both neutralized by gunfire during armed confrontation after massacring 10 Jews lighting Hanukkah candles.
Naveed Akram confirmed as Pakistani shooter. 2nd identity still locked down tight. Rabbi Eli Shlanger executed. 50 rounds. Pipe bomb in the vehicle. 29 injured.
These weren't escape artists panicking. They came to kill Jews and wanted the firefight.
That's ideological commitment, not blind rage.
