A new bolani cart was given to this widow and her brother in #Kabul #Afghanistan. She will be helping him to make the bolani which will be sold by her brother to earn an income. Thank you so much to our dear Mina jan @minasharif and donors for supporting this project.
This is not how our wise elders should be living. Alone and discarded. Please send support when you can - but it doesn’t replace the comfort and love they deserve.

Two children living abroad Isaac and Sanah gave our sister dear Mina jan @minasharif their birthday money to spend in #Afghanistan. We bought teddy bears in #Khost and happily gave them to random children on the street.
Hasan Minhaj - brown & Muslim is so proud today of a movie that celebrates south asian culture with beauty and humour. Part of that humour is mocking the very recent and very catastrophic suffering of Afghans. Is this how desperate people are for paycheques? Or just untalented?

Apparently women’s freedom is only a “problem” when the women are Afghan.
The man in the black turban is @suhailshaheen1 , the Taliban’s ambassador to Qatar. Look around him: educated women, visible women, women participating freely in public life. Then remember what his regime has done to Afghan women.
5 yrs + 1 day ago, many of us from Afghanistan were different people than we have become today. That was a “once upon a time” era, even one day before Aug 15, when we carried a sliver of hope for a collective humanity that valued our lives. And now we know. 🇦🇫

Zubair Shah Agha’s “crime” was standing with the family of 2 time Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Dr. Mahrang Baloch after she was sentenced to life imprisonment by an anti-terrorism court.
For years, he has challenged enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, human trafficking, organ trafficking, terrorism, and extremism, while defending the rights of women and oppressed communities.
A government that fears peaceful voices more than violent extremists sends a dangerous message.
Today it is Zubair. Tomorrow it could be anyone who dares to speak.
