The problem is not optimizing what the user can do, it is helping the user figure out what to do because things are optimized.

Got to meet the @PsyopAnime team yesterday at our Gossip Goblin GenJam! I’ve been a fan for the longest time and was excited to meet them! What an amazing team, love meeting humble folks with a keen sense of art, creativity, and where we are headed in a new creative renaissance. I love what the team said, that we are in the midst of a new creative renaissance allowing new people to create new stories. Apropos as we dived into Gossip Goblin’s universe. A really special @MachineCinemaAI GenJam this time, bringing together an amazing group of partners @645ventures @bfl_ai @GoogleDeepMind @MoFoLLP @nebiusai @fableshowrunner and of course @Gossip_Goblin! Biggest thank you to Yasmeena and the team at 645 Ventures for putting it altogether! Thanks everyone!!! And congrats to PsyopAnime!
Won first place in the Gossip Goblin GenJam in San Francisco We received assets from the upcoming Gossip Goblin project on the day of the competition and had an extremely short time to put together a story , competing alongside a room full of talented creators. lots of fun! @minhsmind

I think we should be rating AI on how little we have to interact with it.

Sharing @TheAIFilmGuy’s thoughts on what are GenJams and why he loves them. By the end of this year, Machine Cinema will have hosted over 300 GenJams worldwide. An insane milestone over the last 3 years. I still can’t believe it. @MachineCinemaAI

Hollywood built a system around gatekeeping and now AI is allowing any random person to participate. Yes, most of it is crap and derivative, but sometimes some random person has a brilliant thought and that captures a new audience. That’s what is different here. It’s what is happening on YouTube and TikTok on steroids.

The number one thing I wish AI would deliver on is using my screens less.

Tech people probably think Nathan Fielder is a real investigator and don't realize he's a comedian.

Seeing San Francisco takes on You Can See Everything is a good reminder that the Bay Area doesn't have a sense of humor.

I’m glad I watched You Can See Everything in LA with my film friends rather than in SF with my tech friends. Tech people seem to want to interrogate whether Nathan did a good enough job with the investigation or assessing the moral characters and reality of the film and Angelenos want to talk about the filmmaking and creative choices. I’d much rather have the latter conversation in this instance. I find the former conversation to ironically miss the philosophical point of the film. Brilliant film. Nathan Fielder is a comedic and creative genius. It beat out Obsession, Odyssey and Project Hail Mary for me.

The games we've long wanted, which didn't exist because they'd cost several times more to make than they'd earn back, will soon become possible. As will the games developers wanted to build, but couldn't with the resources available. It'll be a new golden age of gaming.

I think calling AI a tool is going to backfire on people who are its biggest proponents.

Linus Torvalds to the anti-AI crowd: stop using compilers if you want to prove they’re REAL programmers. LOL. “you had better not use an editor to write that commit message either. The kind of expectations *I* have is that people do their best and I expect people to understand what they are doing. But that understanding has very little to do with what tools they use. And quite honestly, in my experience, the people I respect and call intelligent are not the ones that shy away from using new and interesting tools.”
Linus Torvalds says, rules prohibiting AI usage are “UTTERLY STUPID” and “idiotic”. For the Linux kernel, Torvalds says, “we’re not going to make stupid rules that say ‘you can’t use tools for X’”.

In all my years in tech, I've never seen it more competitive and intense. It truly feels like a war. At the same time, it's super fun. A fun war? Odd times.

Some people gatekeep workflows. Our speakers gave theirs away. At WorkBuddy's meetup during SF Tech Week, 7 speakers shared real playbooks—from solo content engines and 5-platform newsletters to automating daily ops—all powered by WorkBuddy. Good ideas are meant to be shared.

700+ registrations. A full house. On a Sunday afternoon. Clearly we weren't the only ones asking: once anyone can generate a video, what makes one worth watching? That is what After Abundance set out to answer at SF Tech Week. The founder panel went straight at it. @DanniChenGTM moderated five builders who each own a different piece of the creative stack: @rissa_cao(Fish Audio) on voice, @xingsthatmatter(PlotParty) on story, @minhsmind(Machine Cinema) on community, Ondrej Dusek (@CrreoAI) on long-form, and Trista Taylor (@Sonilo_music ) on sound. Five different angles, and they kept landing in the same place. Everyone has the same models now, so story, voice and sound are what make the work stand out. Nobody pretended the tools are finished, and the room got an honest look at where they still break. Then the creators took the stage. @godswayfoundinc, one of the creators in our community, walked through his work, and James Yin showed what he made with @flatkey101 . No polished demos, just real projects and a straight account of where the tech delivered and where it fell short. Thank you to everyone who packed the room, and to OpenStages and Mengyu who made the afternoon happen. And this was only the start. Our creative challenge is now LIVE! 🚀 Join the fun, unleash your creativity, and show us what you've got. More exciting events are on the way, follow along so you don't miss what's next!
