Anyone in @angular community switched from buildtime to runtime i18n? And would want to share their experience? :)
Our setup:
- @NxDevTools monorepo
- dozens of apps
- thousands of projects
Evaluating both:
- undocumented Angular runtime i18n github.com/angular/angular/i…
- 3rd party libs (e.g. transloco)
Folks using @NxDevTools, what tagging system worked out well for you?
A dual system (scope & type) makes sense, but devs tend to gravitate towards the most relaxed "type" tag and projects still grow huge.
How do you nudge teams to build smaller projects without manual policing?
Incremental rebuild time of small change for @angular app takes 40-60s. We are using @NxDevTools webpack executor (with module-federation) for building. Where do I even start to debug this monstrosity?
Somewhat related feature request to track local build times (from dev server) in nx executors without wrapping them: github.com/nrwl/nx/discussio…
Is there a way to track/log build times from dev server executors in @NxDevTools ?
The goal is to measure initial and incremental (change) build times off applications on dev machines as some quantifiable metric of DevEx.
Anyone using @WebStormIDE and big monorepo Angular project managed to solve control flow issues? *.html is set as Angular v17 template, but WebStorm still fails to recognise control flow tags.
Thank you so much @niklas_wortmann and @PiotrekTomiak !
For everyone else having similar issue - beware of web-types within your dependencies. They could be misconfigured and mess up your workspace.
How does one debug @NxDevTools Cloud remote cache hit when it was supposed to be a miss? There was package-lock.json change, which should affect all task hashes, but some of the builds were replayed from cache.
Gurus of @NxDevTools is it possible somehow to run multiple targets with different configurations without using additional sh script to run multiple affected commands in parallel? e.g.
`nx affected --targets=lint,test:ci`

How @Angular are you?

Anyone having issues with bigger @NxDevTools @angular projects in @WebStormIDE ?
It seems that WebStorm fails to detect Angular components very often.
Is there flavor of `--skip-nx-cache` which only disables remote cache option but uses local cache in @NxDevTools ?
Last week I had a pleasure to meet @meeroslav and @FerryColum. It was a blast!
We had two day session to improve our @NxDevTools usage.
Key numbers on repo with 480 projects:
* lint 1m 20s (from 5m+)
* test 8m 40s (from 35m+)
* Full CI down to 19m with same agents
1/5
To improve build performance:
* use buildable/publishable libs for stable core projects
* introduce more module federation remotes
* make sure to enforce project tagging to keep graph structured
4/5
There are 20+ new tasks on backlog as a result of this session. These will only provide further improvements for both local and CI runs.
I can't thank you enough @meeroslav and @FerryColum 🙏 You both were pleasure to meet with. Hopefully time Vilnius was nice for you as well.
