Wow.
I hope they have deep pockets.
Is this not dangerous incitement of a large crowd against two people?
Very surprised at @3ArenaDublin allowing it.

At this point, the Palestinian flag should be officially recognized as a symbol of terrorism.

*Important,
Let me explain the public money trail behind the viral advert about grandparents hugging their grandchildren.
Four Organisations keep appearing:
1. CUAN,
2. Community Foundation Ireland,
3. Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, and
4. We-Consent.
1. Cuan is the State agency.
Established in January 2024 to fund and coordinate domestic and sexual violence services, set standards, and run awareness campaigns.
It sits inside the Dept. of Justice
Its funding has risen from €58.6 million in 2024 to €84.4 million allocation for 2027 (+44% increase in three years!)
At end of 2024 it had 28 employees. That year it spent roughly €3 million on staff, administration and board costs + another €4.2 million on awareness campaigns.
In 2025 it allocated €58.36 million to 78 organisations (see pic below).
2. Community Foundation Ireland
Denise Charlton is CEO of Community Foundation.
She also sits on CUAN's statutory board, and is a named member of We-Consent’s advisory group.
Community Foundation Ireland helped fund the original We-Consent campaign (launched 2023 by DRCC, with Dept of Justice support).
Other CUAN board members also lead or sit on organisations that receive Cuan grants (including Women’s Aid and Galway Rape Crisis Centre and others).
These links are publicly disclosed. They are not evidence of wrongdoing. Everything here is above board.
But they do raise ordinary public-interest questions about conflict declarations, recusals, and how core grants are renewed versus the smaller open funding call (€3.2m in 2025).
3. We-Consent
We-Consent is a DRCC project, not a separate State body.
The precise cost, production details, and evaluation of this particular grandparents advert are not publicly broken out.
4. ***IMPORTANT**
Dublin Rape Crisis Centre does important work.
Supporting survivors and teaching boundaries are not in dispute.
But my question here is:
What measurable improvement has this new agency structure, CUAN, delivered per euro spent, and where is the independent comparison with the previous system?
*The graphic below shows how €58.3million was distributed in 2025. CUAN's total budget allocation for 2027 is €85million.

Cuan's job is to tackle domestic, sexual and gender-based violence in Ireland.
There are women stuck in abusive homes up and down the country because there are no beds available in women's shelters.
And this advert - designed to challenge the scourge of affectionate grandparents - is what they are spending money on?
Wasting money has real-world consequences. A mis-spent budget means someone stuck with an abusive partner longer than they had to be.
Everyone involved in this decision - top to bottom - should be given their marching orders.

🇮🇪After the global backlash, WE-CONSENT has deleted their anti-grandparent hugging video, .. so let's look instead at how else they are wasting Irish taxpayer money, .. in We-Consent's Top 5 TikToks.
{This hot garbage is being funded by the Department of Justice + other depts}

Between 2021 and 2025, the State put almost €1.3 million into the campaign that produced the “Not everyone wants a hug” video.

I've watched the new We-Consent ad, carrying the Cuan logo and the State harp.
Grandparents arrive at the front door. Granny goes in for a hug and a kiss. The granddaughter cringes. The message: "Not everyone wants a hug. Even from the people who love them."
Nobody should force a child to hug anyone. Parents know that. But this is a campaign about sexual violence, and it has no business casting an Irish granny at the front door as the problem. That blurs two very different things and insults a lot of decent families.
I'll be asking the Minister for Justice what this ad cost and who signed off on it.

“When did you realise that we had completely lost the run of ourselves as a nation, grandad?”

This is the nonsense this TD wastes Dail time over. Wanting mparents to have the right to put an X on a birthcert instead of male and female. The Dail is worse to even entertain this madness. Non-Binary is a made up gender by confused people.

Wow!
This just got a LOT more interesting.
The entire Govt funded NGO & Charity sector is a house of cards.
Named! The charity which was raided by Gardai and the Charity Regulator on Tue/Wed, with Rolex watches, Louis Vuitton luxury leather goods and two BMW X5 valued at €250,000
It's Liberties Recycling Training and Development CLG, also known as Liberty Recycling, a registered charity which receives around €400,000 a year from the taxpayer. It collects unwanted goods, mostly clothing, sells them in its shops and to wholesalers overseas, and uses the proceeds to help people with difficult backgrounds, particularly in addiction to get skills and work experience and build their lives. Most of its €3.6m income comes from its sales.
One of its principals is SF TD Aengus O'Snodaigh, who states he is chairperson and secretary, and is also a director of a related private company (without charity status, despite his claim in the Oireachtas register) Liberty (sic) Global Exports Company Limited by Guarantee. Note, there is no allegation of wrongdoing at this time against Aengus O'Snodaigh.
Other principals include Philip Moloney, Tony Geoghegan of Merchants Quay fame and Gabriel Kinahan.

I understand this advert has been suspended but there is no escaping how mean, hurtful and patronising it is. The Dept of Justice and CUAN need to reflect on its offensiveness. (Cuan have an €85m govt funded budget).
